‘Devil Wears Prada’ sequel set for April 2013
The film version of ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ starred Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.NEW YORK, June 1 — Lauren Weisberger is currently writing a sequel to her hit novel “The Devil Wears Prada”, according to a story published yesterday by US entertainment site EW.
“Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns” will take place eight years after the end of the first novel. Simon & Schuster will publish the sequel in April 2013, 10 years after the release of the original best-seller.
“The Devil Wears Prada” tells the story of Andrea Sachs, the young assistant to Miranda Priestly, the powerful and terrifying editor in chief of fashion magazine Runway, largely rumoured to be based on editor in chief of US Vogue magazine Anna Wintour.
“Revenge Wears Prada”, set eight years later, sees Andrea heading up a wedding magazine titled The Plunge. Andrea is once again working with Emily, former right-hand to Miranda. And while Andrea also plans her own wedding, she finds herself having once more to deal with the all-powerful Miranda.
A film version of “The Devil Wears Prada” came out in 2006, with Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway playing the main roles. — AFP-Relaxnews
