Elton John to publish book ‘Love is the Cure’
LOS ANGELES, Jan 11 — British musician Elton John will add author to his accomplishments with his first book titled Love is the Cure: Ending the Global AIDs Epidemic, to be published in the summer of 2012.
In this account, the singer-songwriter will relate personal experiences and memories of friends who lost their lives to AIDS, including Queen singer Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991 from the illness.
The book will be published in the UK by Hodder & Stoughton this July, along with an audio book that John will read. Little, Brown will publish in the US, with a release planned for August.
In a statement published in Billboard, John has said that AIDS “is a disease that must be cured not by a miraculous vaccine, but by changing hearts and minds, through a collective effort to break down social barriers.”
Proceeds of the book sales will benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
John is up for another Grammy Award for his duet with Lady Gaga, “Hello, Hello”, from the Gnomeo & Juliet soundtrack. — afprelaxnews.com
