APRIL 15 — I know many people are angry with Raja Petra Kamarudin over two stories.
The first is that he “absolved” Najib Razak and Rosmah Mansor of the murder of Altantuya Shaaribuu.
The second is that he was “betrayed” by Anwar Ibrahim over the September 16 promise.
Few people realise that the interview by TV3 was done two months ago and it was only released recently because of the Sarawak election. From RPK’s blog, one begins to realise that what he said in the interview is the same thing that has been said over the past three years and in his statutory declaration, that there is a “special report” about Rosmah’s presence during the murder of Altantuya.
Because the sources of his information, Din Merican and John Pang, defected and would not stand by him, RPK has to protect himself; to do this he is getting people to now focus on the “Special Report” mentioned in his statutory declaration.
Never in RPK’s interview or his blog did he say he absolved Najib and Rosmah of the murder case. What he is saying all along is there is a Special Report. Why isn’t the police investigating it? Instead, why are they going after him?
That’s how I read it. Take note that stories which appeared in Malaysiakini and elsewhere are quoted directly from Bernama, and we all know that Bernama, being controlled by the BN, will twist the story when it comes to political reporting. So will TV3 and the other mainstream papers! Note the source of the article.
On the allegation that Anwar betrayed RPK (here again, note the source of the story is Bernama), my take is simple. At that point in time, Sarawak and Sabah were and still are the kingmakers. The corrupted politicians there have proven themselves to be worth not a single sen. They shift camps from time to time. Anwar could well have believed it himself that the members of Parliament there were serious about joining force and overthrow BN on September 16. At the last minute, there was a special tour to Taiwan (or was it Hong Kong?) for MPs! Before we realised it, there was no September 16 takeover, and Anwar was made to look foolish.
This is how Malaysian politics is played by corrupted politicians who want to hold on to power. They will use every dirty tactic that they can think of to stay in power.
I suggest that you read RPK’s blog and judge for yourself what this man is saying.
Like it or not, RPK can be very controversial, but I don’t think he has shifted his ground a bit! Whatever it is, RPK is not the main icon for reformation in this country. Neither is Anwar, Zaid or Azmin. It’s the rakyat who want the reformation — that’s what will ensure the people’s victory, I guess!
