KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 — Bursa Malaysia's website was the target of distributed denial of service (DDOS) attacks yesterday, the exchange announced in a statement here.

It explained that this caused users to experience intermittent access to the site yesterday evening.

The exchange added that contingency measures had to be activated to remedy the situation and as a result, access by international users may still be temporarily affected today.

Users in Malaysia, however, are not expected to experience any disruption, it said.

Bursa Malaysia also gave its assurance that its other systems were not affected during the incident and trading in its securities, derivatives and Islamic markets continue to operate normally.
