FBM KLCI futures open slightly lower

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 — The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives opened slightly lower in early trade on Wednesday with demand yet to pick up, dealers said.

At 9.25 am, November 2012 lost one point to 1,616.

December 2012 and March 2013 were flat at 1,618.5 and 1,616 respectively.

Turnover stood at 746 lots while open interest totalled 25,410 contracts.

The underlying FBM KLCI was 1.32 points lower at 1,622.88 after 25 minutes of trading.

At 9.30am today, there were 90 gainers, 83 losers and 185 counters traded unchanged on the Bursa Malaysia.

The FBM-KLCI was at 1,623.14 down 1.06 points, the FBMACE was at 4,231.43 down 5.21 points, and the FBMEmas was at 11,094.04 down 2.94  points.

Turnover was at 97.455 million shares valued at RM46.410 million.

The price of gold as at 9.30am stood at RM164.35per gramme, down 46sen from RM164.81 at 5pm yesterday. — Bernama
