Indonesian tycoon Liem Sioe Liong dies
KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 — Indonesian tycoon Sudono Salim alias Liem Sioe Liong passed away in Singapore this evening, according to Metronews. He was 97.
The China-born businessman started the Salim Group, which comprises Indofood, Indomobil, Indocement, Indosiar, BCA, Indomaret, Indomarco and others — all brand names in the sprawling Indonesian archipelago.
Liem was a close ally of former Indonesian President Suharto.
