The four-day conference is Asia’s largest and most popular network security conference that is running in its eighth year featuring a quadruple track line-up at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara in the city between Oct 11 and 14.
Wysopal, the chief technology officer (CTO) and co-founder of Veracode will deliver the first keynote address followed by network security legend Vixie, who is president of Internet Systems Consortium and also the current chairman of the American Registry for Internet Numbers (Arin).
In 2008, Wysopal was named one of InfoWorld’s Top 25 CTOs and one of the 100 most influential people in IT by eWeek. He is one of the original members of L0pht Heavy Industries and has testified on Capitol Hill on the subjects of government computer security and how vulnerabilities are discovered in software.
This year, he was named a SANS Security Thought Leader.
Vixie is the author of several RFCs and UNIX system programs, among them SENDS, proxynet, rtty and Vixie cron. He also holds the record for the “most CERT advisories due to a single author”.
The HITBSecConf will also kick off with two-days of technical trainings covering Web Hacking 2.0, SAP Security, Hunting Web Attackers and Malcode & Threat Analysis. There will also be an expanded version of the popular Exploit Lab training series with Exploit Lab 5.0 and Exploit Lab: Black Belt taking place the week prior to the conference.
A special keynote panel will be held on Oct 14 featuring the topic of mobile malware and cloud computing security. The panel comprises of leading network security experts such as Mikko Hypponen, Paul Ducklin, Denis Maslennikov, and Dr Jose Nazario. The session will be moderated by Dinesh Nair, a prominent Malaysian open source advocate who has been actively involved in the industry since 1986.
