Murdered Arab-Malaysian Development Bank founder’s son changes firm name

October 07, 2013

Pascal Najadi, the chairman, CEO and co-founder of merchant bankers AIAK Malaysia Sdn Bhd, said today his firm has adopted the global brand name Najadi & Partners.

Pascal, whose father Hussain Najadi was brutally gunned down in July in Kuala Lumpur, announced this at a press briefing in Moscow where he also unveiled his company's new website, www.najadi.ru.

Hussain was gunned down by an assassin in broad daylight at a busy street in the city. The murderer was arrested by police recently and charged in court.

Hussain had founded Malaysia's fifth largest banking group, AmBank with ANZ Global, as a strategic shareholder.

In a statement, Pascal said he had realigned his firm's strategy to the new realities of economic common sense.

"We regard Norway and Russia as the most dependable sovereign nations who offer tremendous global trade and finance opportunities to business partners throughout the world.

"If we look at how the markets in the United States and the European Union have wrecked economic reality, it is clear that regional adjustment is called for," he said. - October 7, 2013.
