Share prices lower at mid-morning

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were lower at mid-morning today as the market momentum remained on the downside, dealers said.

As at 11.11am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 0.76 point lower at 1,597.41, after opening at 1,592.83.

The Finance Index rose 24.77 points to 14,911.7.

The Plantation Index fell 35.6 points to 7,831.62 and the Industrial Index declined 25.43 points to 2,655.87.

The FBM Emas Index went down 8.37 points to 10,883.42, FBM Mid 70 Index decreased 16.2 points to 11,906.62 and the FBM Ace fell 14.9 points to 4,177.1.

Decliners outpaced advancers by 350 to 176, while 259 counters were unchanged, 879 untraded and 45 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 425.41 million shares worth RM500.39 million.

Among actives, Malaysia Airlines fell 16.5 sen to 84.5 sen, Hiap Huat lost two sen to 20 sen and MAS-CK:CW dropped four sen to 3.5 sen.

SAAG and Scomi-WA were unchanged at 0.5 sen respectively.

Of the heavyweights, Maybank and Tenaga were unchanged at RM9.02 and RM6.90 respectively, Sime Darby fell 12 sen to RM9.13 and Petronas Chemicals was down 16 sen to RM5.93.

CIMB added four sen to RM7.54 and Axiata rose 18 sen to RM5.80. — Bernama
