KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained in positive territory at mid-morning today, in line with regional markets and helped by gains in most heavyweight stocks, dealers said.

At 11.08 am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 2.35 points better at 1,625.66, after opening at 1,626.44.

The Finance Index rose 19.93 points to 15,017.25 and the Plantation Index improved 1.25 points to 7,970.05, while the Industrial Index eased 4.34 points to 2,779.58.

The FBM Emas Index was up 17.88 points to 11,110.08, the FBM Mid 70 Index gained 24.29 points to 12,259.13, while FBM Ace eased 7.37 points to 4,240.31.

Advancers outnumbered decliners by 227 to 193, while 288 counters were unchanged, 940 untraded and 18 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 408.97 million shares worth RM529.62 million.

Among actives, KNM Group-Wa rose 10 sen to 10.5 sen, Karambunai Corp fell one sen to 15.5 sen and Compugates Holdings added one sen to 9.5 sen.

Of the heavyweights, Maybank improved one sen to RM9.04, Sime Darby was flat at RM9.53 and CIMB was up by four sen to RM7.67.

At 11.30am today, there were 236 gainers, 227 losers and 291 counters traded unchanged on the Bursa

Malaysia.

The FBM-KLCI was at 1,625.52 up 2.21 points, the FBMACE was at 4,241.62 down 6.06 points, and the FBMEmas was at 11,106.91 up 14.71 points.

Turnover was at 481.855 million shares valued at RM643.234 million.  — Bernama
