KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 – Tan Chong Motor Holdings Bhd’s pre-tax profit for the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2012 slipped to RM44.58 million from RM74.18 million in the same period last year.
Revenue, however, increased to RM937.69 million from RM905.36 million.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, the group said its performance was affected by the global uncertainty, natural disasters, tighter credit requirements by Bank Negara Malaysia and consumers’ expectations for reduction in car prices.
Moving forward, the group said the recently launched all-new Nissan Almera is expected to boost its fourth quarter result, which has been a traditionally slow period. – Bernama
