Citroën launches new models for China and Eastern Europe
The C4 should hit the roads in China by the end of the year, before moving on to Russia during the first half of 2013. — Picture courtesy of CitroënPARIS, June 21 — Citroën’s global expansion is moving into high gear with the launch of its DS line in China announced for June 28.
The French carmaker’s Chinese line will get a new sedan called C4-L towards the end of 2012, while the C-Elysée is being added to its Northern African and Eastern European lines.
The Citroën C4-L is the new car on the block in China, where the brand will try to gain traction in the compact market. The vehicle boasts a redesigned Lounge at the back, an extended wheelbase, seats that can recline up to 29 degrees, head restraints with improved comfort, hands-free ignition, a touchscreen navigation system, a backup camera and a full heated windscreen.
The Citroën C4 L is propelled by the latest gas engines on the market, the THP 150/170 (which was developed in conjunction with BMW) and the VTi 135. The C4 L should hit the roads in China by the end of the year, before moving on to Russia during the first half of 2013.
With its large (2.65m) wheelbase, the new Citroën C-Élysée can fit a whole family. The sedan will launch towards the end of the year, starting with Turkey, Eastern Europe and Algeria. — AFP-Relaxnews
