Ford launches Ranger variant for Malaysian market

US automaker Ford today introduced a new variant to its line-up in Malaysia, the Ford Ranger Double Cab 4x4 3.2L XLT Hi-Rider with six-speed manual transmission and electronic shift-on-the-fly.

Ford in a statement today said the pick-up truck, priced at RM99,888, is equipped with the powerful Duratorq TDCi 3.2L variable geometry turbo diesel engine, while still offering a quiet cabin and a superior driving experience.

"The character of the all-new Ranger exudes the confidence and attitude of the '21st Century Tough' truck, powerful and toned, while still offering the comfort and refinement of a passenger vehicle," export and growth operations, Asia Pacific, regional manager David Westerman said.

"The all-new Ranger was designed with comfort and convenience in mind, with over 20 smart storage spaces, increased leg room and a spacious cabin," he added.

Ford said the vehicle is also one of the smartest and most advanced trucks in its class with USB-iPod and iPhone connectivity, auto rain and speed sensing wipers, a 4.2-inch audio system colour display, cruise control, and electrochromatic inner rear view mirror.

Adding to the exhilarating driving experience, the vehicle also features 17-inch alloy rims and an exciting new colour option, True Red, exclusively available in the all-new Ford Ranger 3.2L XLT. Other colours available include Metropolitan Grey, Highlight Silver and Cool White. - Bernama, August 2, 2013
