KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 9 — Nasim Sdn Bhd, the exclusive distributor of the Peugeot brand in Malaysia, has been busy with the launch of the internationally-acclaimed and award-winning Peugeot 508 and the opening of the Peugeot Blue Box in both Sungai Petani and Kota Kinabalu recently.

“This premium luxury sedan encompasses everything Peugeot is famous for — class, character and panache. It is truly a remarkable sedan with emotion at the heart of it all,” said Datuk Samson Anand George, COO of Nasim.
The all-new 508, with an on-the-road price of RM169,888, was one of the most highly-anticipated car launches in recent history. Even prior to its launching, Nasim received over 100 bookings for the award-winning sedan.
“The European car market has grown exponentially in Malaysia because consumers have become more discerning. They want something classy yet exciting and dynamic. The all-new 508 is a modern and forward-looking vehicle that meets these requirements,” said Samson.
“Peugeot Blue Box Kota Kinabalu is part of an expansion drive by Nasim to ensure the Peugeot brand has representation in all the major markets in the country,” Samson said at the launch.
The Peugeot Blue Box Kota Kinabalu comprises a showroom at the 1Borneo Hypermall in Kota Kinabalu and a 2S dealership for after-sales service in Kolombong.
The Peugeot Blue Box Sungai Petani is part of a nationwide network expansion drive. With the Sungai Petani branch, there are now a total of 21 sales outlets and 19 service centres in the country.
The Peugeot Blue Box Sungai Petani is a 3S centre offering sales, service and spare parts and brings the total number of 3S Peugeot centres in the country to 12.
“The Peugeot brand has been one of the fastest growing brands in Malaysia this year. In order for us to accelerate this growth further, it is imperative for us to bring Peugeot to new markets,” said Samson.
“It is worth pointing out that of the five new outlets launched this year, four are dealerships which indicate the level of confidence investors have in the Peugeot brand,” he said.
As at end-November 2011, Nasim has sold 4,949 units of Peugeot, which is 92 per cent higher than the volume sold in the same period in 2010. In comparison to Nasim’s sales for the whole of 2010, the volume recorded as at end-November 2011 is 75 per cent higher. In addition, Peugeot sales in Malaysia as of October 31, 2011 accounts for 86 per cent of the French carmaker’s total sales in the Asean region.
