The Batmobile has nothing on Peugeot's Onyx concept. — AFP-Relaxnews picThe Batmobile has nothing on Peugeot's Onyx concept. — AFP-Relaxnews picPARIS, Sept 12 — Peugeot is set to unveil its new sports concept at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, an 600-hp hybrid named Onyx.

The French supercar runs on a V8 hybrid HDi FAP 3.7l engine developed by Peugeot Sport, teamed with 6-gear sequential transmission.

The concept car is 4.65m long, 2.20m wide and only 1.13m high, weighing in at 1,100kg, which translates in a weight to power ratio below 2kg/hp. Its body, made of carbon fiber and pure copper, is set on a quartet of 20 inch wheels.

Peugeot also has two wheelers in the line, the Concept Scooter Onyx and the Concept Bike Onyx, which are also slated to premiere at the Paris Motor Show, running September 29 to October 14.

Peugeot's exhibit will pack in 40 vehicles including a dozen 208 models. Other highlights will include the 508, the 3008 cross-over, the 207 and 308 Coupés Cabriolets and the new RCZ.
