Porsche’s 911 Carrera 4 and 4S to be revealed soon

The new Porsche 911 Carrera 4 will go on sale late this year. — Picture courtesy of PorschePARIS, Aug 27 — Porsche will display its new 911 Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S coupé and convertible versions at the Paris motor show, running Sept 29 to Oct 14.

The lighter and faster 911 Carrera 4 sets itself apart from previous models with its all-wheel drive, bestowing it with better handling on all terrains, even on wet dirt roads.

Porsche is launching four brand new 911 models: both the Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S will get a coupé and convertible version, and all of them will boast a manual 7-speed gearbox.

Roaring 350-HP and 400-HP engines

Performance-wise, the 911 Carrera 4 Coupé will boast a 350-HP engine that goes from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 285km/h.

As for the convertible, it will reach 100km/h in 4.7 seconds, for a top speed of 282km/h.

According to the carmaker, the optional automatic transmission version will consume 8.6l/100km, with CO2 emissions of around 203g/km for the coupé model, while its cabriolet counterpart will consume 8.7l/100km and its CO2 emissions have been gauged at around 205g/km.

As for the 911 Carrera 4S, it will be propelled by a 400-HP engine, reaching 0 to 100km/h in just 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 299km/h for the coupé version.

For the convertible version, these figures will drop to 4.3 seconds and 296kmph.

The automatic transmission versions will consume 9.1l/100km, with CO2 emissions of 215g/km for the coupé model, while the convertible model will use up 9.02l/100km, spitting out 217g of CO2 per km.

The new Porsche 911 Carrera 4 will go on sale in late this year, for €97,557 (RM380,000) (coupé) and €110,290 (convertible).

The 911 Carrera 4S will sell for €112,313 (coupé) and €125,046 (convertible), all prices being the suggested retail prices for Germany. — AFP-Relaxnews
