This year’s event will feature more than 100 classes taught by more than 35 master and celebrity yoga teachers, including Rodney Yee, Baron Baptiste, Seane Corn, and Ana Forrest. The 2012 event will also include a Friday night kirtan with famed “yoga rock star” Krishna Das.

Additional Yoga Journal conferences are held around the country in various yoga hotspots, including New York (April 12-16), San Diego (July 12-16), and Estes Park, Colorado (September 30-October 7). Each event draws around four thousand attendees.

A full four-day pass to the San Francisco event is priced at US$1,065 (RM3,376). A weekend pass costs US$535; a day pass is US$285.

For budget-minded yogis, the event also offers classes and workshops that are free and open to the public, including meditation workshops, acroyoga classes, and a keynote address by yoga master Rodney Lee.

While not as large as the Yoga Journal conference, another option is Hong Kong’s Evolution Asia Yoga Conference, June 7-10. The concept is similar and is the largest of its kind in Asia, and will likely expand in coming years as Westernised yoga, and major yoga brands such as Lululemon, continue to expand. Stay tuned for more details; registration begins January 19. — AFP-Relaxnews
