New L’Oréal app acts as hair colour consultant
PARIS, July 26 — Ladies considering a change of hair colour will be glad to hear about the new app from L’Oréal Paris, which acts as a personal colour consultant.
Called My L’Oréal Colourist, the mobile app initially prompts users to either ‘Scan a Shade’ or ‘Find a Shade.’
The first option lets consumers use their mobile device to scan the barcode of the L’Oréal Paris shade they are interested in, while ‘Find a Shade’ allows both at-home and on-the-go users to dive into a short questionnaire before receiving their personal shade recommendation.
My L’Oréal Colourist allows users to consult consumer ratings and reviews, as well as providing the chance to share their recommended shade on Facebook to get feedback from friends before making a decision.
Other popular hair dye related apps include Hair Colour Booth by Bluebear Technologies Inc., which lets users change their hair colour digitally and experiment with daring tones including pink and green.
The virtual makeover technology experts at ModiFace also provide instant hair makeovers on their site, with users able to see how a particular celebrity’s hairstyle would suit them.
Meanwhile, in terms of advice, fashion and beauty site StyleUnited, a partnership between Procter & Gamble Beauty & Grooming and fashion website ShopStyle, lets visitors build up an online profile to receive personalized beauty recommendations and pose their own beauty conundrums.
The free My L’Oréal Colorist app is now available for download here.
