Michelin to make restaurant reservations easier for diners
PARIS, March 7 — Michelin has struck a partnership with the largest online reservations provider in Europe that will allow diners to book a table at a Michelin-rated eatery across Europe instantly.
The partnership with Livebookings.com will first launch in France and Germany, offering instant table reservations at thousands of restaurants across both countries before being rolled out across the rest of Europe.
Michelin’s restaurant site at present provides descriptions, ratings, reviews by inspectors and users, and a link to the website.
Livebookings services will rival leading real-time online reservation site OpenTable.
OpenTable, with its headquarters in San Francisco, also operates in Canada, Germany, Japan, Mexico and the UK, seating about 10 million diners a month in 27,000 restaurants. — AFP/Relaxnews
