LONDON, April 17 — The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards group has added a new category that will recognise the most outstanding restaurant dedicated to the sustainable ethos.
The recipient of the Slow Food Restaurant of the Year award will be announced on April 30 and will be judged by food critic Matthew Fort and Restaurant magazine.
The establishment will reflect notions such as locality, heritage, sustainability and the revival of forgotten foods, says magazine editor William Drew.
Winners of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants will be announced in London, just ahead of the James Beard Foundation Awards, which recognises chefs and restaurants in the US. — AFP-Relaxnews
