NEW YORK, Jan 31 — International coffee and donuts shop chains are spreading it on thick this week with the release of heart-shaped donuts in time for the most red, white and pink greeting card holiday of the year.

Starting January 30, Dunkin’ Donuts in the US brings back its Cupid’s Choice Donut filled with Bavarian Kreme, topped with strawberry icing and heart-shaped sprinkles, as well as the Chocolate Heart Donut filled with vanilla butter cream and topped with chocolate chips.

Both heart-shaped donuts will be available though the end of February. Dunkin’ Donuts in South Korea will also be selling pairs of pink, heart-shaped donut ‘sets’ for the season.

Rival Krispy Kreme has launched limited-time Valentine’s Day deals in North America and the UK. Until February 14, select stores in Canada and the US will offer a trio of heart-shaped, iced, frosted and sprinkled donuts, while Krispy Kreme in the UK has launched heart-shaped cheesecake donuts.

Until February 20, locations across the UK will sell White Chocolate and Raspberry Cheesecake and Double Cheesecake Donuts, both hand-dipped in Belgian chocolate icing, with a cheesecake filling. — AFP-Relaxnews
