Michelin releases good-value eats list for France 2012

In advance of the 2012 release for France at the end of February, the Michelin guide has announced its Bib Gourmand picks, a category in which a three-course meal must come in under €35 in Paris and €29 everywhere else.
A total of 630 restaurants across France made this year’s cut. And while most offer traditional French fare, a lone Korean restaurant was able to squeeze itself into the pool of new Parisian additions this year.
Bibimbap, in the 5th district of Paris, is named after a traditional and increasingly popular Korean rice dish topped with a variety of marinated vegetables, seasoned beef, and a fried egg, all bound together with a spicy red pepper paste – a relatively novel and uncommon flavour profile for Parisian taste buds.
Other new Parisian eateries to make the good value eats list include Ambassade d’Auvergne, Bistro des Gastronomes, Chez Casimir, Le Casse Noix and Chatomat.
The complete list of Michelin-starred restaurants for 2012 will be announced February 27. Les Bonnes Petites Tables du Guide Michelin 2012 goes on sale February 1 for €18. – AFP
