KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 - Jayanthi Devi Balaguru was elected Wanita Gerakan secretary-general today, the first Indian to hold a key post in the wing.
“I feel happy and honoured to hold this post,” she said, following the appointment of Wanita Gerakan office-bearers here today.
The other secretary-general appointed was Phuah Lai Wan.
The Wanita Gerakan line-up includes Datuk Tan Lian Hoe (Wanita chief); Ng Siew Lai (deputy chief); and vice-presidents: Eng Gaik Hon (Kedah Wanita chief), Ng Ee Koon (Terengganu Wanita chief), Datin Alice Tan Pek Yee (Pahang Wanita chief), Helena Fong and Ong Kin Suan. - Bernama
