TouchnGo customers who pay upfront should be given discounts as well.

Have they consider the impact of accident occuring during this period from midnight to 7am. Plus should come out with something realistic. Maybe this discount will be useful for commercial vehicle who use to travel around this time and it will also reduce the jammed. Plus should consider this if it really want to show their Corporate Social Responsiblity toward highways user.

Talk about Road Safety... this implementation only encourages more people to travel at night when it is so much safer to travel in the morning of afternoon....

May be they are trying the encourage to travel at night so that we have more accident. Please be sincere when offering services to the ppl, most of us the frequent toll contributor do not traller at this hour ler

Why offer the discount only for that particular timeframe?? If PLUS is sincere in assisting in reducing the burden of the common folk, then generously offer the discount 24/7. Besides, travel at that time is not encouraged due to the many reasons like safety, the condition of the highway in general, the ability of PLUS to provide emergency services at that ungodly hour etc......

This again is pure nonsense in offering something which looks good on paper but will fail to reach out to the majority of Malaysians.....so typical of Malaysia Boleh mentality.

Frankly, what's the point of giving 10% discount in off peak traffic. Besides, it does not make a significant difference as we, motorists can adsorb as well as find other means of savings.

Toll should be abolished.

I have wondered for years why they never practised differential pricings for peak and non-peak hours for all tolled roads. That will help people to plan their journeys and the roads are fully utilised .
For example, if you travel on Federal Highway on Sunday, and it is smooth drive,why would people want to pay to go into NPE or Sprint?Except if it is at a discount and not same price as peak hours.
The other concesionaires should consider , maybe 30% discount for usage before 7.30am and spread the traffic on tolled and non tolled roads. That way, the concessionaires get incremental incomes , which would not have gone into its coffers. And people will make an effort to go earlier to office to save costs than to pay full toll charges at peak hours.

What a big idea encouraging people to travel in the wee hours of the morning! This would definitely give rise to more crime along the PLUS highway! Expect robberies, extortions, rapes and other serious crimes to rise! Malaysia BOLEH (mati)!

No no no... they are giving 10% to hoodwink & bribe the public because when the toll agreements are made public, the public can see how much money they've been squeezing all this while.

Only in Malaysia... taxpayer's money to build, taxpayer's money to bail out, GLCs and Cronies wins no matter what.

yes, touch and go should be given discount for any usage.
This is the most unreasonable thing I have seen in the whole world for my entire life. To make it more ridiculous, using touch and go at car park incur an additional charge. Only in this Bolehland can this happen.
Look at Singapore, London and New York, all pre-paid card offer discount compare to cash payment.

I notice that people tend to vote down when someone disagrees that we should be taxed or pay higher prices to use a service.

Why is that? Are we so afraid to part with our extra RM0.50 or so, but worry less when we spend tens of thousands on our handphones, clothes, starbucks, flat screen TV's, cars, expensive computers, etc etc?

There seems to be a discrepancy here. Are we Malaysians really that cheap?

I personally think tolls should be raised and driving made a luxury, not a necessity. If you disagree, feel free to vote me down but make sure you count all the times you've spent a whole lot of 'ringgit and sense' on other items without a single complaint, and see whether your grievances here are justified.

Isnt that is a dangerous period of time to travel? Would you trade the 10% discount with your safety?

Give back of 30 sen discount for fuel! That we can use and feel it everyday.

Save your 'KULIT WAYANG' , if toll operator wants to ease our burden,increase our risk,then you'll get complement or else DON"T ACT LIKE YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOO GENEROUS.

10% discount given by the government. It has been ages the rakyat has been requesting the government to lower the toll rates. But there were so many excuses given by the government, and one of them was that there is already a signed agreement between the government and the company appointed company. In the agreement states that for the next XX amount of years no review in price is applicable. But today the discount is implemented. So, is the government now going to use the rakyat money, paying to "company" for the 10% discount announced? Food for thought!!

The govt sometimes what they are doing what they say are very inconsistent, they encourage to spend more quality time with the family and now they are like encourage people to travel (stay away from home) wee hour in the morning by giving them incentive to travel.
-The question are how many people will travel at this wee hours?
-!0% reduction will the people do it i.e. travel to Penang toll app.RM40.00 you save RM4.00, do you think that anybody will because of rm4.00 saving.
-With so many robbery highlighted in our newspaper at this time, it is not safe to travel at this time.

At the end of the day is it a genuine toll reduction? or just for show that govt is doing something to reduce the burden of the people?

All these things are not well thought through or something behind it? That way you see so many people giving bad comments the thing you have done. If you do something good they will praise you, but it is not most of the time.

This is another stunt pull by BN & their cronies. After sucking so much money from Malaysian for so long and now they are singing "I give then only you can have it" song to us.

Now they give 10% discount for traveling at midnight, by Jan'09 they will increase the toll rate, hahaha, this is their stupid version of "corporate social responsibility"...

just like asking taxi driver to sell thing, while the taxi won't have so much space, no time and hands to do the selling and also not profit at all. Now we come out with another stupid ideas, that won't bring us anywhere but show te stupidity.

I agree with you Xenos. This 10% thing and cabbies sellling goods is the dumbest ideas i ever heard. These must be the greatest ideas these people can conjure to ease the rakyat's burden.
