SHAH ALAM, Nov 30 – De facto PKR leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday blamed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi for his failure to topple the government by Sept 16, saying that the takeover now must start with the party's victory in the Sarawak state election, scheduled to be held by 2011.
"We set a target, so together with Datuk Seri Hadi Awang and Lim Kit Siang we sent a letter to the Prime Minister requesting a meeting, but he refused," said Anwar to some 5,000 supporters at a ceramah last night as part of the PKR national congress.
"We then asked for an emergency session of Parliament, they refused," the Opposition Leader said of his attempt two months ago to table a motion of no confidence against the government.
He reiterated that Pakatan Rakyat is ready to take over government.
"But to take over, to go through all the items to satisfy political observers, that is tough to answer," he said.
He also said that his answer to those who kept asking "when" was "wait."
Anwar reiterated that he could not reveal the Barisan Nasional MPs who had planned to defect to PR as that was part of the conditions set by the legislators he claimed would be defecting.
Anwar then declared to the party supporters that Sarawak is the new battlefront.
"We will have groups of MPs visiting Sarawak every week. If not, we will throw them out," he quipped.
He also claimed that there were Sarawakian BN MPs who had already pledged their full support.
“Sometimes, I get dizzy. Because he will sign his full support but the next day, he goes back to Kuching and attacks us. When I ask why? He says because they are suspicious of him,” he explained.

We thought you were a DPM before and you knew how to fight. You fought poorly. Hope you have learnt your lesson. But I am not sure. Unless you prove to us the next round, otherwise we do not give a blink that you will be the next PM.

I would rather listen to what Saudara Hadi, Nik Aziz, Kit Siang, Karpal or Guan Eng has to say, though not as entertaining but has real meaning and intentions. If the DAP.PAS and PKR parties are really serious about taking over the Government from the BN they just have to start toprepare for the GE13 in 2012 now. They should first forget about Anwar as PR will be more competetive and have more integrity without him, do so with less rhethorics, less being argumentative less talking about racial and cultural differences and concentrate on forming a shadow cabinet first and formost, ONLY then the rakyat and voters will be able to gauge whether PR can and are ready to form the next Government. Running down BN and calling their MPs as being corrupted or other expletives does not work as the rakyat now are more clever and do not vote according to "herd mentality".
Abdullah Badawi had greatly helped to create an atmosphere conducive to the election tsunami which brought unprecedented gains to DAP.PAS and PKR but Abdullah will be gone in March 2009 and the BN will be a tougher opponent to deal with after that. So PR the election clock is ticking..

the tide has surely changed this time
from the high waves of optimism and HOPE
to the low tide of disgust and bitterness
perhaps the new opposition icon should be zaid of exgratia fame

As one smart TV doctor says, the patient always lies, but the symptoms don't..."
In this real-life situation, we can safely substitute "patient" with "politician".
So, instead of "listening" to what you - the politician - says - I just look at the symptoms:-
1. Mahathir isn't panicking.
2. Najib isn't panicking
Wt the inteligence network these two guys possess b/w themselves - they would have been the first to know if the ground was gonna shift....so far, Mahathir has yet to be seen at the Immigration wanting to change his citizenship...
3. Zulkifli Nordin has yet to be disciplined. Why scared to punish one useless bigot of an MP when you have 30 others in line? Unless of course, you actually don't...and you don't want to lose even one to UMNO...
4. SAPP MPs remain independent....
Your strategy was basically an application of the Panic Syndrome - hoping that by causing panic, you could have trigerred reactionary cross overs by BN MPs...
My advise - just concentrate on governing the 5 PR states. There are enough problems as it is, without the need for unnecessary excitement...

We have had the same government since Pre Independence!....So what does that means......No change is needed and they are a bunch of peoples who think they can cheat us over and over and over........
They dont feel that they have betrayed us as voters.....many damn things have happened and we did not see anybody resigning!....not accountable!....and that is exactly what has transpired.
They are famous of arm twisting, and you think any of the disgruntled BN MPs are willing to switch camp?.....Pak lah knows that if he accepts the meeting and let the Emergency session in Parliament, probably some BN MPs will defect....so he refused.
And Anwar did a gentlement approach and he got this treatment. Its OK because we are a new democracy in action. If Anwar is in Japan, Taiwan or in Israel, he would have been PM. Well this is Malaysia and that is the only reason.....We have been in the 'Tak Apa' attitude for TOOOOOO looonnnggggg!.....
Malaysia Boleh!
Sincerely
The Mind!
