Politics has become so dirty and at it's lowest ebb. Formerly it was about different idealogies, then personal attacks, after that came racial , money politics, and now they creep so low to even private life is involved in politics. I still remember everyone whether BN or PR screamed of CSL's blood when his case was exposed, rightly or wrongly. He did what is morally right. He admitted, he apologised and resigned. Then of course people within MCA gave him another chance by voting him in as a check and balance within MCA. So if we apply the same test of consistency, all of us should be crying for Elizabeth's blood. But no, that is not the case. Sometimes when political affliation becomes overbearing, truth decimates. Elizabeth has lost somewhat the moral authority she would otherwise have, if not for this exposure. Everyone must be responsible for their respective actions and all must be evaluated on the same moral tests..

No one wanted to point the finger to BN, is a mere fact as most of us understand the whole incident is politically driven. I bet even when the police started their investigation, they will take a look at who will benefits the most from this incident. In this case, is either BN or someone within the party. A party which can lead us out of the depression. I am a supporter of PAS, and wish to attract others about the Hudud law. If Eli's case is investigated via hudud law, this require thorough investigation. Keep in mind, that one is not guilty until the investigation ends and also before it is decided in court. There might be possibilities that Eli is not guilty, and being a victim of her former boyfriend. There is also something fishy about Toyo's statement, who urges Eli to resign immediately. How can he know that Eli is guilty, and did he got any evidences?? In my opinion, this is an UMNO ploy and if moral matters most for them, let's also investigate them, as i heard many worst stories behind UMNO leaders which are already Muslims. Eli, if you are not guilty, don't worry too much, since Islam also cares about women's rights.

I am very surprise of the emotional outbursts from many readers with regard to Eli affair. The arguments should be focused on the issues and not personalities. Please allow me to make the following comments:-

a) The question is not whether it is right or wrong when one has been caught naked sleeping. The issue here should be why Eli, who is holding a very important and respectable political post, is so careless in taking care of herself and therefore gave the opportunity to her boyfriend to take her photos in private. Many people feel that, if Eli cannot not even protect her own modesty (it is of course not an offence but very important if someone wants herself to be addressed as a lady) , how on earth she can protect `anything and everything' arising from her important portfolios. I believe she has taken an oath to protect state secrets, etc, before taking office. Therefore, it is very important that she must not put herself in a very difficult position.

2) The Malaysian police should double its effort to apprehend Hilmy.

3) Readers should refrain from making wild allegations. If you have proof that these are BN or UMNO doings, dont be selfish and let other readers share your information. If you wish to be reminded, Eli and Hilmy are both PKR members. Otherwise, focused on the issues.

4) If sleeping naked is ok to you and not an offence, so also respect other people's view when they asked her to resign as it is certainly ok and not an offence, unlike in North Korea or China. We must accept divergent views.
