KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 17 — Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today asked embattled Selangor state executive councillor Elizabeth Wong to rethink her decision to quit following the circulation of her naked photographs.
“Elizabeth Wong has spoken at length to Azizah and me. We have discussed the issues and we understand her reasons and the decision she has taken,” said Anwar, referring to his wife Datin Seri Wan Azizah Ismail.
“We have asked Eli to go on leave, we will meet her again to discuss,” Anwar told reporters at a press conference here.
He described Wong as a very important figure in the Selangor government with an excellent track record.
“Eli is a very responsible leader, has been with the party since its inception and I appreciate the widespread support for her to stay. We will invite her again and see what is best,” said Anwar.
Anwar said that he had discussed the matter with Pakatan Rakyat leaders including Pas’s Datuk Seri Hadi Awang who had asked for the issue to be resolved by PKR.
The Permatang Pauh MP described the circulation of Wong’s private photographs as part of a bigger conspiracy to destroy PKR.
“I can only use the strongest possible terms to condemn the smear tactics used against her. One can only wonder to what depths the people behind this will stoop to achieve their aims,” he added.
“The last few days must have been trying and stressful for her and her family. We hope the mass media will give her the breathing space she deserves.”
He also took the opportunity to slam Barisan Nasional leaders saying that they have no right to talk about morality.
“Let us hear from Najib first on morality,” said Anwar, referring to the deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Earlier today Wong offered her resignation as state executive councillor and Bukit Lanjan assemblyman, but was asked by Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim to take leave.
Yesterday Selangor Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo asked Wong to resign immediately saying that she was morally unfit to continue as executive councillor or assemblyman.

Elizabeth Wong should reconsider her decision to quit. I am not an PR supporter but in this case, she did nothing wrong and there is no reason why she should quit. I applaude her for admitting that she was the one in the photos. It is not her fault, not her doing, someone has invaded her privacy obviously without her consent and knowledge, so she should not resign.

Her husband was publicly "shamed" by TDM on TV on trumped up charges and made to endure years of separation from her husband while he was incarcerated in lockups and prison.

Like many other Malaysians, I am sadden at how low BN would go to fight for power. Looking at her track record and feedback from her fellow PKR colleagues, Elizabeth comes across as someone who is dedicated to her constituency. "Please do not resign YB and continue with your good work and continue fighting for your cause. We believe in you. And, you track record had shown us what you have done in the last few months. Please do not harbour any thoughts of resigning anymore as it will only give all those who oppose your presence in PR a greater opportunity to carry on doing things and seizing power their way. Indeed, you are one among the very few in the Exco that is doing an excellent job. News and pictures will not and will never shake off our faith in you. We have a foreign national, a descendent (directly or otherwise) of the great Genghiz Khan, murdered and disposed off, most foul. Yet such an evil act is shunted about the courts under the pretext of justice being served.
We have a less than desired government clinging onto power by all means fair or foul. Foul, evidently in Perak. Fair, a little hard pressed to find in any of the states.
We have a hardworking state assemblywoman, forced to resign by means vile and foul. We have a foul mouth of a specimen braying about morals when one is truly truly hard pressed to find a strand of moral fiber in him.
We have the elected state assemblies in Kedah and Selangor under threat of demolition, by means foul and rotten.
We have the nations coffers plundered by men most foul, and means most vile.
We have a man whose heart beats for the good of the nation, running afoul of a judicial system seen to be trundling along fouled corridors of power.
From the police, we obtain not justice. From the monarchy, the even scales of justice seem lacking.
What do we do, people of Malaysia? Are we to stand back and watch while our beloved nation goes ever swifter down the depths of despair and hopelessness? If we do not speak up now, evil men will be emboldened. Evil deeds will be more rampant.
There is power in our tongue. There is might in our faith. While we have no sway over those who walk in the corridors of power, we can pronounce effective sentence upon them. Not by wishing destruction to visit upon them but proclaiming righteousness and goodness against their evil schemes.
Every day, every one shall proclaim - "Goodness and righteousness shall be the authorities over our nation, from Perlis to Sarawak! Evil deeds and evil men shall not hold sway our our lives anymore. There shall no longer be corruption and bad governance. PEace and freedom shall reign in our land."

If you honestly believe deep within you that you have committed a wrong then by all means please quit. However, from what you have explained it is obvious you are no wrong doer. If you were, then this would have been in the background and would have surfaced even during the nomination day and during the campaigning period during the last election.
But let it be clear to all and sundry that this is a crystal clear case of either one maniac or a group of maniacs who are hell bent on committing thefts, robberies, gang rapes, and all kinds of despicable evil crimes in their pursuit of money through their perverted characteristics. Frankly our society seem to be saturated with criminals of the worst kind so much so our CPO, Selangor has himself expressed his anger and desperation at the current crime levels, at his recent press interview with the Malay Mail. That being the case please do not become a victim of these terrorists in our own neighborhood. If you do then every God fearing citizen would begin to lose hope of living in this country. Think of the mothers, the wives, the daughters and those little children playing in the playground. Every one of them need that extra hope and that extra challenge for there is hope. Please grab that extra strength you require and give out that hope for all these people who could one day or another become a victim of such criminals. If you are worried for your own safety please don’t lose hope. Just sound it and I am sure there are many who will volunteer to get that extra security you require. Believe it or not!! It does not take a genius to differentiate a criminal from a non criminal neither does it require some kind of a specialist to discern the type of a woman you are. It is written all over your face that you are indeed a special woman with that God given gift of leadership and intellect that you so easily ooze each time you speak and appear in public. I have never met you but I have seen you on the internet news channels. We don’t have many like you around as most don’t like to serve the society. In short you are a “chosen one”. So is Dr Lo Lo and Theresa Kok. So please be aware and be bold and continue to do what you have been chosen for. Remember, you have done no wrong !! Before I end let me say this. Many men have this sickening instinct of a criminal behaviour in them. There are many reasons behind this. I cant go into this at it is too time consuming. One of them is that former boy friend of yours. I will not say why but he is destined to meet his end in a painful way. Be rest assured of that. But thank the great God for you got rid of him for he would have given you hell for the rest of your life. Remember nature is a very powerful force and we are all a part of nature itself.!!

In this day and age of the Internet and social networking, things like this are bound to happen more frequently to persons in key positions, especially politicians and perhaps others, so you must be strong and not quit. Otherwise, your oponents and enemies would have won.
I heard a story about President Soekarno of Indonesia who on a visit to the Soviet Union, was allegedly plied with women to enjoy and then the KGB presented him with pictures of himself in bed with these women in an attempt to blackmail him into doing what they asked.
Soekarno, being the sport that he was, asked the KGB to give him some copies of the photos, since his countrymen would be proud of him.
So OK. You were in the nude in your bedroom but who isn't nude in their bedroom at some time of the day or night. I mean does anyone have a bath, have a shower or a bowel motion with their clothes on?
Even in the case of Bill Clinton & Monica Lewinski or Chua Soi Lek, while they did commit adultery which is a sin in most religions or not quite moral or even repugnant to the secular, many other men since time immemorial have done what they did and do what they did today.
The only difference is that they are politicians holding high office in their respective countries and were fair game for their opponents and the gutter media but I'm sure that many of those who criticise these men for what they did have been equally guilty of such actions at one time or another in their lives.
This brings to mind what Jesus Christ said to the persons about to stone a prostitute to death for being a sinner, that the one without sin should cast the first stone and none did.
Anyway, your unfortunate episode should be a warning to your fellow Pakatan Rakyat MPs and State Assembly persons to be extra careful about what they do in their private lives and not to take it for granted that they can do what most fellow citizens do in their private lives without worry of being embarassed, and you all need to be even more vigilant and careful in this age of the Internet, of camera phones and social networks, where your actions, statements and writings, even made many years ago can be brought back to haunt you today.

It's really ridiculous to blame others as it doesn't solve the problem. Why should BN involved in the issue of immorality of PR's leader? Why must PR's supporters still blurr even after Eli said that it is done by her ex-boyfriend?
Eli has made up her mind to offer to quit from all her posts and she must be firmed with her decision due to her immorality in order not to jeopardize the party. If Pakatan really have their dignity then Anwar should openly accept Eli's decision.

From my perspective, I am in a very envious position because I think in either case scenerio, the Barisan National clumsy attempt to deminish the stature of Miss Eli. Wong has definitely backfired on the Barisan National and this will definitely boost the morale of Pakatan and the disgust of the people of Malaysia going into the next election.
I like the contribution of Khir Toyo in ASKING FOR THE HEAD OF ELI WONG. This guy Khir Toyo is quite a peasant and so obviously lacking sophistication, he should be more a jaga pintu than a politician because he has shown himself as so very ANTI- CHINESE and if he is so anti-Chinese then how will be benefit from attacking Eli Wong ? Selangor has become a Chinese voter bank ! Shoooooosh ! Say nothing that the Chinese are the voter bank in Selangor or UMNO will definitely WREST DICTATORSHIP OF SELANGOR. tHAT IS MY THIINKING THAT IF THE SCREWS TIGHTENED too much on UMNO they will junck the ballot box.
My opinion is that the change to a Pakatan Government is inevitable, and to loose leaders like Eli Wong is to rob Pakatan leadership of obvious talent that our nation needs the most at this time. I would if I could that DSAI is ccorrect that we need Eli Wong more than we know and I would like to appeal to Eli Wong to stay on and realise her ambition to usher in a new Malaysia that is fair for all Malaysians and that we the minority can seriously call Malaysia.

This guy Khir Toyo is quite a peasant and so obviously lacking sophistication, he should be more a jaga pintu than a politician because he has shown himself as so very ANTI- CHINESE and if he is so anti-Chinese then how will be benefit from attacking Eli Wong ? Selangor has become a Chinese voter bank ! Shoooooosh ! Say nothing that the Chinese are the voter bank in Selangor or UMNO will definitely WREST DICTATORSHIP OF SELANGOR. tHAT IS MY THIINKING THAT IF THE SCREWS TIGHTENED too much on UMNO they will junck the ballot box.
My opinion is that the change to a Pakatan Government is inevitable, and to loose leaders like Eli Wong is to rob Pakatan leadership of obvious talent that our nation needs the most at this time. I would if I could that DSAI is ccorrect that we need Eli Wong more than we know and I would like to appeal to Eli Wong to stay on and realise her ambition to usher in a new Malaysia that is fair for all Malaysians and that we the minority can seriously call Malaysia.
Really to think of the problem faced by Eli Wong, there is no moral issue involved at all. What is the problem if some wayward or perverts who get their jollies from FUCKING PEEPING at descent people in the nude ? No big deal and to me I will say that this is a classic case of storm in a tea cup !
May I propose that DSAI and the Pakatan Movement take the decision making on this issue OUT OF ELI'S HANDS; by arguing and encouraging the leadership to publicly and in the media STATE THAT THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP OF PAKATAN REJECT THE RESIGNATION OF MISS ELI WONG ! That way we give Miss Eli Wong cause to feel obligated and to not disappoint her party COMRADES !

EW was immediately thrown into the public limelight after the election last March. She was wanted "Dead or Alive" by interested parties. We are not told how long had the ex boyfriend was with her; if less than eight months, it was a set up. If she has known him for some years, his heart has been gripped by greed for he saw the opportunity to betray for money like Judas betrayed Jesus. For many evening he waited for the opportunity to capture the most exposing shots of EW.....like a prowling lion he waited and waited but somehow he just could not find any shot close to stark nakedness. So he waited for another day while EW was deep asleep after a long tired day. He found nothing really exposing, and so in EW's deep sleep, he slowly did the trick, loosen whatever he can loosen, lifted what ever he could lift without waking up EW. Then he took the shots hastily.....the best shots so far alas without her consent were but nothing close to stark nudity.
That same evening he went straight to the Broker of Politician Assassination who offered a handsome price, perhaps half a million ringgit - pretty good money for just less than half an hour work. He took to heel and perhaps was even told to leave the country to avoid arrest when they released the photos....
Those who acquired the photos knew far too well that the price they paid was just peanut compared to what they would get in return when their plans were to succeed.
The above description is merely a fictitious imagination....oh yes, I remember, they say "Truth is stranger than fiction!"

Like many of Eli's supporters, I maintained absolute sympathy with her sudden public outburst that is responsible for her predicament which will create political instability within her own party backyard. Everyone who follows her alleged sexual encounters being circulated like wildfire over the internet, will agree that she was a victim of unscrupulous acts of the lowest human character.We all condemned such immoral acts in order to discredit a capable woman politician, who had maintained a high level of commitment as the elected representative in her Bukit Lajan constituency. Why should Eli resigned when others who had caught with their pants down are still allowed to sit and shout in parliament?
I agreed with DAP secretary-general Lim Eng Guan's reported statement (the star dated 18Feb) that "all state assemblymen and MPs, (especially from PAS and Pakatan Rakyat, to take good care of their behaviour in order avoid a moral crisis which can threaten Pakatan's stability in Selangor." In the same tone, PKR's de facto leader Datuk Anwar Seri Ibrahim is not the right person to speak about morality due to the fact that his own legal battle to clear him of any sexual wrongdoing is still under legal prosecution. As reported in the same media, Anwar has decided to ask Wong to go on leave to avoid any pressure on her. However, the embattled Elizabeth Wong said that "she is not ashamed of her sexuality as a woman and as a single person, though she had offered to quit her posts as Bukit Lanjan Assemblyman as well as her Selangor Exco position."
It is crystal clear that the de factor PKR leader has no creditability and neither morality to suggest that Eli should go on leave in order not to discredit the party's creditability. Is Anwar making a serious attempt to redeem his own credibility in PKR pending the final outcome of his own sexual allegation trial which will resume for public hearing next week?
Although I may not be a parliamentarian to defend myself, I wish to caution Anwar Ibrahim that his nasty humiliating personal attack on Najib Tun Razak, with all kinds of sexual insinuations will no longer incite negative public opinion in order to further discredit our prime minister designate.
Anwar has no creditability and low morality in protecting the democratic rights of the people. Anwar is a traitor to the Malays especially signified in the recent Perak political crisis, for which he had failed to defend the constitutional right of the Sultan in order to restore the state government by a simple majority in favour of the Barisan Nasional. Having said that I wish to urge the Minister for National Security to know his cabinet responsibility and be firm in his execution of power. to investigate and condemn all those who had openly defied with acts of treason against the decision made by the Sultan of Perak in restoring political stability and governance in his state. Big guys and small guys make no difference and if found guilty, they should be charge under ISA.

After what I hear from the news I felt sorry what has been happen to you.I understand that feeling.But since is already the fact you have to face it .Because we all support you.I do not dare to say this maybe the dirty politic or else.So Pls start still and continue for embition which you had been afford for the past year.
About some people YANG BERHORMAT ask you to apology and quit.At here I had some words to HIM.When SOMEONE YANG BERHORMAT having the sindiket did HIM call HIM to quit.And when YANG BERHORMAT fail to getting the trust from public did HE feel the responsible to step down and go back became his own profesinol like DR,Lawyer,or what ever.

DSAI should organize a rally in a stadium / school hall and see how many people come to support Eliz. That would bolster her moral support and give renewed strength to face the crowd. I am sure Eliz is tougher than a nail although she is still a sensitive person inside...
