KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 19 — A photograph of three bullets, “kidnappings” and CCTV videotapes. These were among the evidence presented or alluded to by Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in parliament today to support his claims that the BN government is using bribery and other unethical tactics to entice defections.
Anwar also alleged that despite police reports, top government officials were deliberately taking no action.
He claimed that the bribery scheme could be traced to the deputy prime minister and while he did not present the CCTV recordings in parliament, when pressed by reporters afterwards if he had the tapes, he said: “you will know at the right time.”
“I am giving the truth and facts, the attempts that were conducted by the Umno leadership, including the Deputy Prime Minister and leaders who threatened, kidnapped, and giving bribery this only continues the record and tradition of bribery which are practiced by the said leaders,” Anwar said in parliament.
He told parliament how Lim Soo Nee, PKR’s state representative for Kulim agreed to be “bait” and worked together with the Anti-Corruption Agency (now called the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission) to secure evidence of alleged bribery attempts made by agents of Datuk Seri Mahadzir Khalid to entice a defection.
Mahadzir is the former menteri besar of Kedah.
Mahadzir’s agents were alleged to have offered up to RM5 million for a defection, Anwar claimed.
A CCTV recording was purportedly made of a meeting between Lim and Mahadzir at a hotel in Seberang Jaya at the end of last year.
Anwar also showed a photograph of three bullets sent to PKR Bakar Arang state representative Tan Wei Shu.
It was alleged to have been sent when Tan declined an offer to defect. Tan made a police report but claims no police action was taken.
Anwar also spoke of three police reports lodged by former Bukit Selambau assemblyman V Arumugam.
The reports were lodged over various harassments including an alleged threat that he could end up like former Lunas state representative Joe Fernandez if he persisted in his political activities. Fernandez died after being shot three times in 2000.
“If a police report was made, go investigate. There was no investigation, not once was he called. This is a member of the state executive council and maybe he is Indian. And there is some perception that Indians are a lower class in Malaysia,” Anwar added.
Anwar claimed that the police and the MACC are not acting on the various police reports and the CCTV due to pressure from top leadership in government.
His BN counterparts however, declined to accept Anwar’s evidence at face value.
Dr. Mohd Puad Zarkashi, member of parliament for Batu Pahat, told Anwar not to blame BN for defections and said that the CCTV recording proves nothing as he also meets members from PKR.
Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, member of parliament for Pasir Salak, told Anwar not to accuse the police of wrong doing as they were not in parliament to defend themselves.
In the press conference afterwards, Anwar said that “the Attorney General will use all its powers” to frustrate investigations.
He added that Selangor state representatives had lodged police reports over attempts to bribe them but “that is an academic exercise” as it was unlikely any police investigation would arise out of the reports.

How rakyat can trust police. How to make rakyat trust police?
The culture has been as such. To change, all the top rank must replace, resign or limited serving period.

That is a stupid conclusion. The CCTV will support Lim's complaint to the MACC, that Mahadir or his agent is trying to procure his defections. The fact that he had agreed to participate in an 'entrapment' operation shows the relevancy and importance of the CCTV and of Mahadir's participation.
MACC should be closed down if it takes instructions from outsiders including the PM.

Political partisanship resolves nothing. So far, two backbenchers have commented on Anwar's charges. Both seem to belittle the problem of political aggression and political violence.
On the first backbencher's comment, I say this: "Meeting with members of other political parties is all right, provided nothing corrupt occurs. Even better, if such meetings are attempts to resolve the country's many problems. Of course, this comment is premised on the presumption that these politicians are serving the people and not themselves."
On the second backbencher's comment, I say this: "I agree that the police are not there to defend themselves. But where is the Home Minister. He can always explain or defend those under his Ministry. Or is the backbencher trying to tell us that the Minister is being given gaji buta?"

I know what it is to have to endure enforcement that is skewed in support of those who have political influence. In my case a judge of the Court of Appeal had even instructed the police investigator not to investigate my report; and even as I made it known to numerous judges at the highest level of the judiciary, such cries of faul play are merely futile yelling in the jungle and nobody will hear you.
I say to DSAI that when the Pakatan comes into government as they surely will (if the BN will not rig the polls), that the first priority on their agenda must always be ENFORCEMENT OF THE RULE OF LAW. Malaysia is lawless and if you are on the opposite side of the political fence, then your voice will be a yell in the wild; there is only one salvation for Malaysia and that is to return a Pakatan Rakyat government in the next Malaysian General Election.

so now there is evidence and some may doubt it but I see it as this has been the plan by Najib and his team. Take over of not destabilise the PR govt cos they can't afford a PR govt that is successful at the next election and thus far PR is doing good job.

Come out straight. If you have evidence, bring them on. Dont keep on with the right time. There is always time for TRUTH. Anytime, anywhere!
When you have this evidence in hand, while you are waiting for the right time, you have lost Perak.
Kinda weird you come out with evidence on meeting of enticed representatives. Cause the BN sure have tonnes of yours too. Police acted double standard. So are you Anwar Ibrahim.

The 6 guys whom was shot dead can be consider that was the victim of the corrupted cops. All of them known by everyone in Kulim, specialy Late Elongovan the only son of the gold smith in kulim.Since after the school days Late Elongo invovle with his fathers business.Off course he is not Saint, however he is not criminal too.He is not event a gang leader too as stated in Utusan Malaysia.(can police proff that he is the leader of gang 08?)I believe he might have one or two police cases...curi telur kot.Elangovan might look as errogant but in general he was a nice guy and devoted to Lord Ayyapan..i read in media that cops are look for the group since 2 years..However just few weeks ago he had went India to tribute his vows to Lord Ayyapan..If he have criminal record how can he can go to India?
Late Pannir, a local guy whom working in Singapore since few years back.Just back for holiday after completed his prayers in India. How can CID Chief claim that he is seruis criminal? He was abus driver in Singapore..Datuk CID kena check record immigration sebelum cakap.Boleh ke pihak polis buktikan bahawa pada hari hari ataupun waktu jenayah berlaku di malaysia , mendiang pannir berada dimana?
The 3 victim, its a joke la..this fellow an alcohlic guy..always can see sleeping in the street in kulim.. he is OKU too.
The 4 victim Late Vadi ...A poor crane driver...not event have a criminal record..Since two month ago working with Late Elongo...

You also need to show you are storng, and governed the rest of 4 states to best of efforts and co orporated with BN in Fed Territory as a Constructive opposition
Plus you should show you have the muscle and mettle to defend yourself, Media, Public, Legal and Election - need to play all fronts
We need confidence and leardership - not just Drama Queens

I support Pakatan but Anwar's shenanigans has to abate. All this 'I will produce it (evidence) later' is just hogwash.
Bring SOLID proof and destroy BN. Or otherwise just shut up and do your job as an alternative to the BN.
By the way in these economic slowdown, why does Anwar not have a shadow cabinet in place to do a good job of helping the nation. Pakatan talks about democracy and the Westminster model, why no shadow cabinet? Or is that too much to ask for because its actual work?
Come on everybody enough of bloody politics. Get some work done!

The MSM might not even publish these stuff I'm afraid. Lets hope tomorrow's papers carry it. Don't miss it though, if it does it's going to be a tiny column.
But I make these things get passed on through word of mouth. I take it as a personal responsibility for the sake of Malaysians that all my friends and relative gets hold of UMNO's dirt.
The only way to put an end to such blatant misuse of power and the law, is to vote in the opposition as federal government.

Najib? Anwar?
Remember Anwar's black eye? At the beginning everybody in the BN Government denied it. The IGP denied it. In fact said that Anwar was in good condition! Even Dr. Mahathir, the then PM, said that probably the black eye was SELF-INFLICTED! Finally, because of public pressure, a Royal Commission of Enquiry was made; and the TRUTH came out! Anwar as punched, with his hands handcuffed, his eyes blind-folded! So, who was the LIAR? The IGP? The PM? or Anwar?
Today, Anwar revealed of bribery, and when this did not work, threats! So many Police Reprots were made; and no action was taken to investigate, especially when the Reports from from outside BN. Now that Anwar has revealed bribery and threatening attempts, with the Police act?
Check the facts.
Now there are a series of reports concerning the Perak Speaker's action against the newly-anointed MB and 6 ex-co members. Will there be investigation? You can bet on it that the Police will be very efficient!
Note also that Karpal Singh was harassed by demonstrators when reports were made against him. But when he made Reports, nothing happened!
Double standards like in Zimbabwe? There the Opposition had to flee the country while the second run took place. And he was locked up and released; locked up and released! Finally, he got so fed he refused to take part ina second ballot; and gave Mugabe a free ride!
In Sarawak, two PKR MPs were refused entry! I remember vividly, Lim Kit Siang was refused entry to Sabah, years ago! Why is the Chief Minister of Sarawak so SCARED of politicians talking to the people? Why was the Chief Minister of Sabah so SCARED of Mr. Lim? FACE the people and let them voice their opinions of you!
In Perak, too, let the VOTERS decide who should rule Perak. Why is BN so SCARED of facing the voters? Dissolve the State Assembly and let the voters decide. The Administration is not made in Putrajaya. Neither is it made in Kuala Kangsar! It is made in the State Assembly in Perak! That is the only place where the VOICES of the voters should be heard and the MB ( whether PR or BN) is tested. GO FOR THE TEST!
Or better still, go to the voters in a snap election! Do not "curi ayam" . Play straight! No buying of State Assembly persons! No threats with bullets! No character assassination through nude photos! Play straight! Be HONEST!
Your HONESTY is tested all the way! Empires had collapsed because of an orgy of corruption. Note , the French Revolution by peasants and ordinary people toppled the Government! The peopel will not stand nonsense any more! The Obama change will come to Malaysia as it did . The poor, the weak, the women, the children, the downtrodden, the HINDRAF followers will march in triumphant one day!
The day of reckoning will come!
Beware the IDES of MARCH !

Alas today as usual DSAI is claiming foul about police report not being acted out, about offers that is not in black and white..the usual.
Please do not act like a sore loser especially if you want to be a leader in the future.Show some maturity in your action.Educate the people by leading an example....everytime you get into trouble you always claim foul..it a conspiracy of the highest level..its the DPM,the police chief the whole police force.the monarchy and I don't know who else next time.
Perhaps if one day you become the PM(god forbid) you will also blame the rakyat when they do not follow you.Why can't you be graceful in your action?Admit that in 1997 your policy is a failure, that you have learn about your mistakes, you will try harder then may be you will get my vote.Nevertheless I doubt you will do that seeing your recent action yur favourite solution when confronted with a problem that is go overseas until the problem simmers.
