SHAH ALAM, Feb 25 — More irregularities at Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd are expected to be uncovered by auditors and will be disclosed to the press as they emerge.
Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said today external auditors have yet to complete auditing the accounts of the state investment arm and told reporters that it was premature for them to lodge any reports with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
“We are more professional than some other agencies and we will only take the necessary action after our probe is completed,” said Khalid, who was answering a question about yesterday’s revelations that senior PNSB officials were being probed for allowing unauthorised purchases and sales of apartments in Mecca.
Speaking after the weekly state exco meeting, he said the move had exposed PNSB to risk and there were elements of non-reporting to Bank Negara.
Khalid refused to comment when asked if the move amounted to Criminal Breach of Trust (CBT) and added that the MACC would have to determine that.
On comments from Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo, who is the former PNSB chairman, that there were no losses in the transactions, Khalid said his predecessor was entitled to his opinions.
Khalid declined to name the individual who benefited from the deal.
On Monday, PNSB chief executive officer Datin Khairiyah bu Hassan and finance manager Nora Azmin Radzuan were told to go on leave after auditors found discrepancies in the company accounts including the purchase and sale of properties in Saudi Arabia.

Politicians from Pakatan declared that they would not witch hunt after the win over Selangor. What they did not realise was that it was not for them to say. Tax payers money was stolen and those repsonsible should have been brought to justice.
Its not Khalid's money and neither is it Anwar Ibrahim. The money belongs to the people of Selangor and as such Khir should have been investigated and made to pay back what he had taken illicitly. Thats justice!
I am glad it is done now although it looks more like revenge now.
