KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 — Umno Youth chief Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has unsurprisingly attacked those who question the social contract and Bumiputera privileges as provocateurs of racial tension, singling out Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Making a clear reference to the former Youth chief and now Opposition Leader in his opening speech at the wing’s general assembly today, he used the term “Si Petualang,” meaning traitor, for selling out Malay rights in the quest for power.
He accused Anwar of being manipulative and doing things “differently in front, and differently behind,” a reference to the former deputy prime minister’s sodomy charge with drew cheers from the 793 delegates.
“Because they are power crazy, they are willing to do anything. Si Petualang is willing to sow the seeds of hate, cooperate with the enemy, deny the rights of his own race and insult his homeland in various forums across the world.
“He is ready to insult the institution of Malay rulers and whoever else to fulfil his greed,” he said, adding that no matter “how he escaped their trap, the trap would never forget him.”
The education minister also added that those who have questioned the social contract and the special position of Malays and Bumiputeras were being proud and arrogant.
“The social contract has purposely been misinterpreted to light the flames of racism. They purposely refuse to discuss the social contract from a historical perspective, that it was agreed to by all races,” he said.
Referring to the opposition in Parliament, he warned them not to take advantage of the immunity of the Dewan Rakyat to show off their courage.
He also said that the Feb 5 takeover of Perak was divine justice by the power of God after Anwar had m
ade the false claim that Pakatan Rakyat would take over Federal Government on Sep 16 last year.
Hishammuddin also refuted claims that the 12th General Election, where Barisan Nasional suffered heavy losses just over a year ago, was a starting point for the “end of a party that has been great and strong all this time.”
“Umno should not be so pessimistic. What happened was a wake up call,” he said, explaining that mere physical development was no longer sufficient.
Instead, Umno should fight for “politics with value and meaning” that he claimed to have initiated within the Youth wing that has brought it closer to the grassroots.

Do we want such power crazed Mininster in the government?

One minute he says that the Pakatan Rakyat Malays are "provocateurs of racial tension" and then the next minute he is saying all non-malays are the enemy. Typical UMNO "own goal".
He also claims that he has instilled “politics with value and meaning” among UMNO Youth. What values are required for 20 youths to surround a handicapped Parliamentarian and push him around while threatening him?
Let us all pray for the day when true Justice and Democracy land here in Malaysia. Let us all hope that the Malaysian Royalty does for the Rakyat, what the Government is not willing or able to do.

No right to own opinion? No right to think? No right to associate freely? No right to question? What do they want? Obedient, compliant, conforming servants of UMNO?
As the Creator made Man in their image, so Man think. You would suppress that? Why not just purge ALL Malays you deem traitors, and put them in Kamunting or even Siberia? Your fathers, your mothers, your sisters, your brothers, your daughters, and your sons?
The voices of tyranny and dictatorship seems to be getting louder now. And this from a well educated Mr Hishamuddin!
If reasonable sounds, I would nod my head and listen with interest. If different opinion, I too would not mind. But to go off the deep end and call others who do not agree with your thinking 'traitors', that I must speak up and challenge you. UMNO, you make me ashame.

The UMNOputras have awarded contract after contract not only to the Malay cronies but also the Chinese and Indian cronies at the expense of the poor from all races.
Today's social struggle is not among the three races but between the poor classes (Malay,Chinese and Indians) and rich cronies from these three races. I urge the Malay brothers stop being fooled by the UMNO morons who have using the questions of race to dominate your minds.UMNO's actions merely divert your attention from the real problems ie UMNO has failed to take care of the common and poor Malays .

In the 1980s Umno had twisted the definition to mean how the Malay race must be supreme in exchange for the non-Malays to have citizenship in Malaysia.
There was no such contract. Study the papers on the negotiations on independence and you cannot find it. The British's stand was and is all human are equal and have the right of citizenship in the land that they had built their lives in. That is why the Federal Constitution provides for 'special position of the Malays'. Not 'special rights'.
In Britain, there is a special position of the church - the official religion which is used in royal ceremonies, but Christians are not superior to non-Christians, and Britain is not a Christian country. It is the same here - no race or religion is superior above others, and the official religion is the base for the royal ceremonies. That is the special position.

Social contract, bumiputera and Ketuanan Melayu are the invention of Umno politicians. These terms do not exist during the founding of Malaysia and they are not found in the constitution.
Malays are guaranteed certain rights in the constitution. Nobody disputes or question those rights. But Umno has enlarged those rights unconstitutionally and justified them by inventing terms like social contract, bumiputera and ketuanan Melayu.
The only way for the country to progress normally is to kick out the Umno racists.

The Christian Bible permits slavery. Does it ever make slavery any more valid and noble? We modern people must rise to the occasion to know that it is socially unacceptable norm and should be rejected outright. The same can be said for social contract. Anyone continues to defend and support this concept should be put to shame.
I am Chinese. Frankly, I don't give a shit how you want to keep the contract. I will prevail and survive in this kind of environment. I will look for business and opportunity else where. I will let those who continue to harp on the social contract to remain in the state of denial, to steal from those who deserve the fruits of labor. Go ahead steal it by all means. Let's see who is getting poorer by the days. I am very disgusted by this bunch of ignorant, low life animals.

Granted that many UMNO members are racists thermselves and will believe all the lies when UNO leaders talk of Ketuanan Melayu and Malay privileges, many UMNO members are intelligent enough to feel insulted by such blatant lies by their leaders.
Malays are quite ashame of UMNO for having thrown mud into the face of the monarchy and now come back to paint a different picture. Good muslim would wish that the whole episode be best forgotten. By bringing up the shameful episode and instead of apologising for the mistakes, UMNO now spins to distort the truth, which is against Islam.
Good malays knows that UMNO has committed treason against the rulers and are very ashame of UMNO and many have quit and refuse to vote for UMNO and the is rightly so. However, there are still many unrepentent UMNO members who are power crazy and corrupt and will stick around, nevermind that UMNO is rotten and corrupt to the core, just like their personal values.

b. Malay language : Dr M first dared to bring up the importance of English. Najib is doing the same now. Hishamuddin still wants to wait "sampai lembu pulang ke kandang"
c. Special privileges : Musa proposed the dropping of Bumi contractors only for the Iskandar corridor
d. Religion : In the eyes of Islam, all men are equal and Arab is the lingua franca. What privileges, what kings, what bumiputras?

All the convenient targets were attacked. And so the political divide goes on.
The trouble is that Hishamuddin has to satisfy 2 constituencies - one, an increasingly fearful Umno which has no clue how to handle to coming recession amidst the collapse of Malaysia's exports and industrial production and which has no idea on how the economy should be structurally reformed, and two, a non-Umno domestic audience and an international audience who regard subjects such as affirmative action and special privileges as anachronistic and irrelevant in this day and age.
Such a dichotomy is enough to give otherwise sensible people an acute sense of schizophrenia.
Simply put, what does Hishamuddin tell his fellow Asean education ministers when they get together for their regular meetings? Is the Malaysian education system a "gold standard" for Asean? Or are Asean countries more tempted by the Singapore education system with it's acknowledged strengths?
Hishamuddin can pitch his views to the more chauvinistic, racist and "ultra" members of Umno, who will greet his speeches and comments with unbridled fervour.
But, and I don't know if Hishamuddin is man enough to admit it, such views and sentiments, coming from a senior government minister, will not do anything to get more investments into Malaysia. Without the right type of investments, where are the good jobs coming from? Without good jobs, who is going to employ the output of Malaysia's universities and technical training institutions? Can all of these graduates find jobs with the government or become Class F contractors?
Making speeches is easy. It is the governing responsibly part that is difficult. And that is what separates politicians with integrity from those who emote with ulterior motives.

Remember DAP and PAS members are Malaysian citizens..not foreigners. Just because there are Malaysian citizens supporting opposition parties does not make them enemies of the state.
Anwar did not deny his won race their rights...what he said was the NEP will be reveiwed to be fair to all Malaysians.Thats what Najib said recently too...whats wrong with that?
If one had followed the recent interview with BBC, Anwar never condemned his homeland, he only critized the ruling party. As an opposition leader it is his job to critize the ruling goverment where it is neccessary. Where do we see an opposition leader praising the ruling goverment!!!!!

second , only a low and weak mind will call someone a traitor for trying to build national cohesiveness and a national identity. and the last 50 years of this policy that hishamuddin represents , has kept the malay weak and hishamuddin seems to be one of the weak ones because he is reflecting the same weakness that most see amongst malays.
third , the malay cannot be the centre for malaysia . the centre in malaysia has to be MALAYSIANS. and this centre will be made up malaysians of all the malaysian communities who have transformed themselves into malaysians. so they will be made up of malaysian minded malays like raja petra kamaruddin , zaid ibrahim and anwar ibrahim and many others . and they will be complemented by people with similar minds from all the communities found in malaysia. AND THIS IS THE NATURAL CENTRE FOR MALAYSIA.
so i cant understand why or what hishamuddin or his ilk like dr mahathir , khir toyol etc is gripping about . HOW CAN MALAYSIA'S NATURAL CENTRE BE WRONG FOR MALAYSIA AND HOW CAN A POLITICIAN PROMOTING THIS IDEA AND TRUTH BE A TRAITOR?
