IPOH, April 22 - The Perak state government will purchase a new fleet of Proton Perdanas for executive councillors to replace the Toyota Camrys bought by the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) administration.
"We will get them new and cheap. We have always believed in using the Proton cars because they are our national pride," Mentri Besar Datuk Dr Zambry Kadir said today.
He added that it did not matter what cars the state government officers drove for their personal use but when on official business, it was important to use the national car.
"We are aware that there were previous complaints on the high cost of maintenance for the vehicles. This is one of our concerns too.
"However, we will speak with Proton on how to better maintain the vehicles without forking out too much," he said.
The state's 16 Toyota Camrys, used by the previous Pakatan Rakyat (PR) government as their official vehicles, will be auctioned off at the State Secretariat's car park from 9.30am to 4pm from May 4 to 18.
The reserve price for each vehicle is at RM148,000.
Zambry said former mentri besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin will be given firts preference in the auction for his official car.
Noting Nizar's interest to bid for the car, Zambry told a press conference here that he was glad the latter had decided to do so.
"At least he won't have to drive the car around illegally any longer," he said.
He added that the BN government was a "courteous" administration and would therefore give the state's former mentri besar due respect.
"Even if there is a higher bidder for the car, we will give Nizar first preference because we understand that he was the former mentri besar," he said.
When asked if Pakatan Rakyat's former exco members would also be given top priority to purchase their former Toyota Camrys, Dr Zambry said:
"You have to ask them if they are interested in buying the cars. However, we would usually give them priority."

2. Ketua-ketua kampung appointed by PR are PR legacy, so must get rid and appoint our own people.
3. The Camrys are PR legacy, so must get rid of them.
4. Fair-Policies benefiting rakyat are PR legacies, so MUST reverse or ammend all of them.
Must get rid of the Pakatan Rakyat's legacy as soon as possible, in hope that rakyat will not see any traces of the PR, and also rid anything used by the PR people.
Also must reverse all the policies implemented by PR...but the rakyat will be angry. How? Oh... ok, let's do it slowly and buy time by telling the rakyat we are reviewing the policies to make them better...because we are a caring governent....

1) How much are you paying for the so called national cars? Show bill please.
2) So the states now has to buy different cars for "Personal Use" and for "Official Use"?

- What's the point of doing all these "shows"?
- Will the people gain anything from this?
The previous government chose camrys rather than the perdanas because of high maintenance fee. This shows that there are still a lot of improvements proton have to do before they can compete with other foreign car maker.
"If the shoe doesn't fit you, buy a suitable one. Don't chop off you foot."
The "new" Perak government are aware of the complaints of high cost of maintenance yet chose to go ahead with it. Sound's like they're chopping off their foot to me.
Where's the brain in this? Perhaps there's none?

"Courteous" my foot! All these rubbishy remarks being dished out by Datuk Dr Zambry is an affront to the intelligence of the common people. And to come from a Dr at that! He is simply not fit to be sitting in the MB's seat and the longer he is there, the more shame he is going to bring to his party. All actions to date simply point to acts of REVENGE and nothing else! It is becoming too obvious !

If Banyak Nakal wants to sell these cars, why should PR leaders buy them and give Banyak Nakal more ammunition to say: "You see, so you bought the cars and it shows that the intention was not entirely for official use, but later to be bought at a cheaper price for personal use."

2-3 years down the road, who cares. They are still rulling.
And hopefully 1-2 years later, we'll kick them out again.
But sneakiness will always live in a loser's heart and hence the 'do whatever i don't care' motto in order for them to crawl back in.

Zambry has a file a suit in the Federal Court to make a ruling that the sultan's decision to install him as mentri besar is valid and correct on the basis of the federal constitution...
The verdict is not out yet...so his own position as the mentri besar is not resolved, case in court is still pending.
But Zambry is already very cocky lah...
He will be driving his brand new official car the Proton Perdana around --- Oh Oh, is that driving around illegally????
To save cost, why lah Proton Perdan - drive lah Proton Saga - more fuel efficient lah. Ask Proton!!!!

In GE13, PR will rule again the state & what, change the car again. Why can t you fellows just use the CAmry which is long lasting & less maintenance rather then Proton Perdana which has so much of defact.
Wake up Zambry dont dream. You not work of the PErak MB. I fine Nizar is still better of then you. Even I dont support PAS at one time but I still give credit to some of their MAlaysian characteristic leaders.

Maintenence is certainly sky rocket for this old junkyard stocks.
Gosh..dont they know that, dont they employ any Financial Consultant? What fool...this so claimed Governance.
Lost incurred in disposal of Camry..then loose its service free maintenance while incurred higher cost in Perdana. Bravo what terrible move...

Plus you BN goons surely will get "commission" from your purchases. Declare fake purchase prices for all to see how good you are. PTUI!
Besides that, BN Zombie is also gonna suck in cash from all the exorbitant maintenance from Proton. Whose gonna know that? Proton is so inferior, you're gonna need so much more servicing. National pride indeed. PTUI!
Next round, we'll bury you in the ground zombie. Right where you belong so you can go rot already!

already showing his true colors - spending when economy is bad; despite already having new camrys
thinking of his own pocket ?
'sneakiness' - pitching the Fed law courts against the perak sultan; so he can win over Nazri ?
if the Legal Institution in malaysia wants to be trusted again
then do the right thing - NO sultan is above the law - anything else is self-imposed
even if Z gets his way this round
he will shudder come 3 yrs ; lets pray for less

Walau dicabar berulang kali andai benar engkau tikus yang hebat, marilah kita bubarkan sahaja DUN Pk ini, bertanding kita secara aman, biarlah sekalian rakyat menentukan siapakah yang berhak bergelar tuan. Namun memang sungguhlah dasar si tikus, hanya sesekali lagaknya menunjuk berani namun bila disergah menggelupurlah ia lari.
Memanglah dasar si tikus, sudahlah datang mu tidak diundang, masuk kerumah orang kau buat sarang, sehingga habis semuanya jadi tunggang langgang.

If you are sincere in Taking a haircut to reduce costs, prove your action is logical and not impulsive decision to claim yourself as In The Making Of National Hero !
Alternatively, distribute these Camry cars to the Pengarah(s) of the State Govt. Agencies for their official duty usage. Not surprising to know that they would call you- Bapa Perak, for the kind offering.
