About time! It's nothing but a huge scam to steal from the poor to give it to a few filthy rich who don't deserve a single sen of it. How can someone becomes an instant millionaire by a mere stroke of a pen and others are made to pay for it. It's blood money. The sooner we dump it the better for those who have to work their ass off day and night just so that these undeserved individuals can live like royalty. Haven't we pay enough for highway toll, petrol tax, road tax, insurance scheme, excise duties, import duties, maintenance etc? The government should stop screwing us poor motorists.

If you are serious, just abolish it!

Abolish the high duty of car prices. The high duty was supposed to be temporary to protect Proton. It has been nearly 30 years. Why does Proton need protection. Remove the duty and you don't need the AP. And vice versa.

They will call it another name, AZ, AK, AM, named it just the same.
Its the source of money, how they want to ged rid the source of money?

APs, ORIGINAL or RECYCLED ones, are just like BLANK CHEQUES.

Only a SELECT FEW, have access to them, and on THEIR DEMAND or through CONNECTIONS.

Who are those select few? How many of them? Why are they given? Why are they preferred? What have they done to deserve the APs, and why not others? What,Why, How,When,Which...there are so many questions that we ordinary, poor citizens, want to know.

The recycled APs were much talked about for some time. Who are behind them? Why were they not prosecuted or charged?

How much do they get for each AP? Those who have access to them got very, very, very filthily RICH!

The rakyat buy certain things which were brought in by using APS. So, indirectly we are also paying to the AP holders! So, they also got rich through making us pay. What are all these?

When is the government putting a stop to such abuse and unacceptable practices?

Talk is cheap and UMNO-BN government has said many things, from taxi permits to APs but so far there is nothing to show. We want to see genuine reforms not rhetoric. Pease don’t for a minute think you can say populist things to truncate the aspiration of the people. We the people have no good opinion of politicians in general including your father. Malaysians politicians are mainly scoundrels. They enjoy good life but give nothing to the country. They contribute my foot.

AP atau Approved Permit adalah satu mekanisma untuk mengawal kemasukan barangan impot untuk mengawal produk tempatan. Bukan kereta sahaja dikenakan AP. Banyak lagi barangan lain yang dikenakan AP.Kain batik umpamanya dikenakan AP untuk menjaga produk tempatan.Apa yang perlu dilihat, dikaji adalah pemberian AP dan penguatkuasaan ke atas syarat-syarat yang dikenakan. Adalah tidak manasabah pemberian AP kepada orang yang tidak pun mempunyai showroom dan pejabat untuk menjalankan perniagaan menjual kereta dan permit pula diberi beribu-ribu, tentunya lebih baik menjual permit daripada menjual kereta kerana ianya lebih mudah. Tentunya banyak syarat-syarat yang dikenakan dalam pengeluaran AP kereta tetapi syarat-syarat tersebut tidak dikuatkuasakan.

They should implement something like the COE system where the people bid for the certificate in Singapore from the government. The money can be use to help the poor in transportation subsidy etc. When ecomomoy is good, the COE will be higher since more people can afford, when economy is bad, then the COE is cheaper for the peole for less peole will bid. Why think so hard ? Visit Singapore and adopt their system. When a system is good, there is no shame in copying. No point reinventing the wheel.

They can never abolish the AP system. Too easy is the money. AP's are not just restricted to vehicles. It covers a wide range of products including vegetables eg. china cabbage. The minimun worth of an AP is RM20k. SO if they just give each BN delegate 10-20 APs a year.. enuf alrdy.. no need to work.. somemore can recycle.
JUST TALK ONLY. Expect some annoucement from BN next few days like Najib did a few days ago. Announce some good news, which can be easily reversed and dunno implement ornot, and then hit them wif bad news while they're still debating old news.

What about the thousand of taxi licences belong to an organisation or a individual??? Thousand of taxi drivers have to work 12- 14 hours a day just to earn enough to pay their slave masters who just happen to own the licences, and with the left over for their families.

Auction the APs to highest bidder (like car's registration number') and the winner will use the Aps to buy cars at their favourite dealer. In this way the government can make more revenues through sales of Aps and the sale tax and as protection to our national cars. If 20,000 APs issue annually at RM10,000 each, that will be an extra revenue of RM200 million which can be use to develop green technology.

Dude, given the raise in interest rate for foreign cars and lower for local production, abolishing the AP is an empty bottle of hope. The government should get it's expert to analyse the issue and come our with few plans before making such a statement, the public is not interested in what your small ideas and communication skills anymore, we need to be in the implementation stage right now. We have waited too long to enjoy the priviledge that other countries has right now.

Only in Malaysia, one has to balding, pot-bellied, in retirement age or highly connected to own high quality cars. Compare the price of a BWM 335i in UK and Malaysia. Malaysians have to pay so much duties and profits to the government and car distributor. So not fair.

dollar for dollar cara in many countries that I have been is much cheaper. In UK a teachers salary is around 3000 sterling. A hatch bck of any car model costs around 10,000 sterling.

Pls abolish APs...Imagine the price of second hand 2007 Estima RM 220K whereas in Japan brand new cost about 35K USD. Selling AP's is bad , very bad...some of them do not have showrooms . We are paying too much for the car. It's like syndicate when the AP holders sell their Aps to car dealers for RM 40-50K. Imgine if anybody has 100Aps, wow...just kaya jual Ap sahaja.
