KUALA LUMPUR, May 11 – The Regent of Perak Raja Nazrin Shah has agreed to see Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaluddin, who was today declared the legitimate mentri besar of Perak by a Kuala Lumpur High Court.
Nizar will meet the Regent at 8.30am tomorrow to ask for the dissolution of the Perak state legislative assembly to pave the way for a fresh state election, according to several Pakatan Rakyat (PR) leaders including Sungkai assemblyman S. A. Sivanesan.
“I just talked with Nizar and he confirmed to me that he has secured an audience with the Regent at 8.30am,” Sivanesan told The Malaysian Insider.
“Nizar will request for dissolution of the legislature for a fresh election,” Sivanesan said adding he hoped the request is not rejected. “Nizar has the legitimate right now that he is the legitimate mentri besar to request for dissolution.”
Sultan Azlan Shah, PR leaders said, is in the United States.
PR assemblymen are also meeting from 11pm tonight to strategise their plans for Tuesday even as the Barisan Nasional (BN) rush to court on tomorrow to set aside the declaration that Nizar is the rightful mentri besar.
Tomorrow is set to be a climatic day with the royal audience, BN rushing to court and Nizar trying to enter his office with police already surrounding the state secretariat building since 4pm today.
Justice Abdul Aziz Rahim declared today that a mentri besar can only be removed by a vote of confidence on the floor of the state assembly.

Sometimes PR Assy'men are damn stupid. Whatever strategy or tactical moves they have they make it public and make it known to the BN. BN then would strategise their move by sabotaging the meeting or anything like that.
The best thing is that the purported meeting should be kept secret and should only be disclosed when the meeting had been made. This would prevent Najib from making or planning any counter move.

BN has abused the "legitimacy" given by the Sultan. They broke the law to serve their own end especially the fiasco on May-7. HRH should take this opportunity to redeem his royal standing by agreeing to pave the way for election.

As an 'orang biasa' in the street, I really hope the Perak Regent will allow dissolution of the state legislative assembly, that BN will finally come to their senses and let the people decide again. If BN is confident of securing majority without going thru backdoors, then lets not be afraid. You may rule again if you get the majority.

It is more cost-effective & much less trouble to return to democracy & hold a state Election !!!
UMNO BN waste much tax payer money on maintaining security over Perak State Assembly sitting & countless court proceedings !!!
It is sad to see how police manpower get wasted, With this kind of manpower in place, PDRM could hv wipe out all Mat Rempit in just over a weekend !!!

The news is great but I see a problem here. Nizar becomes MB and at the assembly he does not hold the majority. A vote of no confidence can still be proposed and the ongoing problems of Perak will be still...ONGOING. PR is therefore still at a disadvantage. The Sultan's headache continues. THE SOLUTION...2 things can happen : 1. Sultan says no to dissolution and BN holds court till the next GE. Or 2. Which is THE BEST solution...Sultan ayes a Dissolution and the rakyat of Perak decides who should rule this state till GE13. May the later prevail.

We hope that the ruler will hear the cries and voice of his people and through the ballot box. It will solve the all the current problem faced by his people.
Which political party win it doesn't matter, it should be the party that the people wanted. A by-election will tell it all, who has the support of the people. We want the reelected government to get down to work as soon as to tackle all the economic situation and increasing crime rate etc..... faced by the people.

Nothing can stop the palace if the palace agree to the dissolution of the Perak State assembly.
The EC chief cannot say that the Palace's consent is not valid even if Zambry succeeded in getting an appeal.
If the EC does so, it will lead UMNO onto a collission course with the palace and Malaysians will finally conclude that UMNO leaders are indeed derhaka.
I believe that the palace will accept this saving grace granted by the high court today and will consent to the requestr for the dissolution of the Perak State Assembly, not withstanding Zambry's appeal to the high court.

At the same time, the Regent must realise that two wrongs never make a right and so the rakyat of Perak hope the royal family will make right a wrong that has been done. It is time for a fresh mandate for the survival of any nation depends not on its King, its Queen, its President or its Prime Minister. Ultimately, the survival of a nation depends on its rakyat. You may subdue some of the people some of the time, but you cannot subdue all the people, all the time. So the Regent and the Sultan I say, "Let the rakyat decide! The government is after all meant to be the servant of the rakyat."

What is it so difficult to dissolved the DUN & have general election for the people of Perak?
Nobody is winning..the choice & future is in RAKYAT hands vote. Its is 50-50 chances for BN & PR to win...fair trial, fair election & uphold our democracy systems..refer to RUKUN NEGARA.
Their fate is up to the rakyat vote. Surely those 3 katak MP's must diqualify from election..or they must empty their post for fresh election.
Talking about law is easier than done..
I hope DYMM Tuanku Raja Muda had his heart of his rakyat wishes.
No point of getting riches but rakyat is suffering.
