Dr. M, guess what, you and your BN should listen to RAKYAT, and what's their need. What had BN done to Silver State, short memories ? You think so ?

He said "i hope people will have short memories". What kind of leader is that, expecting the rakyat to forget the wrong doings of the government so that they can continue doing it in the future? His comments are unacceptable.

So is Dr M suggesting that BN ignores the wishes of most of the rakyat in Perak, and opt to kick Nizar out through a vote in the state assembly? Is this democracy? Or is this a coward's way out?

This is 2009; a world of information; a world of change we must; a world of globalisation not privitisation. Dictators are not welcome.

This time many won't. I have never voted for BN; hence, I will not put words in my fellow Perakians' mouths of how you think. However, the power grab is not a trivial matter that people can forget easily. PR will put up posters with the Speaker being dragged out of assembly to remind people.

Hope. Fat Hope! We didn't forget what you did to the Judiciary and the mess we are now in, Mahathir... and will never ever forget. Not by us, nor our children, nor generations after that. If only you could be repentant to redeem yourself, and make up for integrity and trust lost!

Call for assembly to vote on MB? Siva should be the one to chair the proposed assembly, not the illegal Ganesan. Dr. Mahathir has no gut to go for fresh election lah.

Former australian PM called the Dr Mad Hatter recalcitrant and raised the heckles of a few malaysians. Since then, Mad Hatter has tried valiantly to prove keating is right. With one foot in the hole, this cynical renegade demonstrates once more his contempt for the rakyat. I believe he is doing all this because he is unhappy to have been born as he was.

Oh hear the hypocrite said it and deny the people of Perak their rights. If PR can sweep Perak if there is a fresh election, then it is the will of the people of Perak. Why take away the rights of the people? How unjust and cruel to deny the wishes of the people. Where is democracy? How wicked they really are . Knowing the truth and yet did not practice and follow it. Worse, denying others of their rights.

Why are so many people so confident that Pakatan will "sweep" Perak if fresh elections are called? In the last GE, BN underestimated the people's sentiments and although they did a lot of "unfair" things, which would not have been allowed in any other truly-democratic country, there was still a lot more hanky-panky which they did not do.

With Mahathir back in BN, and with many perceiving him to have a very big hand in decisions made now, I truly believe that BN will only get worse as far as pulling wool over the voters eyes is concerned. They will make full use of all the media organisations available to them, almost all major Dailies and TV Stations, as well as the BN-friendly bloggers and internet news portals to truly vilify Pakatan Rakyat and assume credit for all the good deeds that Perakians believe Pakatan Rakyat did over the 10 months it was in power.

This will be very difficult for Pakatan to counter, due to the limited avenues they have to reach out to the public and especially the voters of Perak. Besides this, recent events have shown how much control the BN leadership has over the judiciary, election commission as well as the police. All these bodies will be made full-use of by a Mahathir-inspired BN to bring Pakatan down, at whatever cost.

I do believe that Pakatan has its work cut-out even if His Majesty Sultan Azlan or Raja Nazrin heed the calls of the rakyat for a fresh State Election to be held in Perak.

Najib, however, said BN fears no one and is always willing to face the music.
"BN is not afraid. We have to face the rakyat and we will face the rakyat. We have faced the rakyat many times," he said.
Of course it is easier to win in the state assembly with all the evil parties under control than in the state election where it is Rakyat's power. You think PR is so so so stupid. Go. Go. Go. State Election Now

Definite suicide, I think, the strategy based on wishful thinking that Malaysian have short memories. UMNO should resist the temptation to hold on to Perak for short term gain, instead should focus on enhancing credibility to ensure preparedness for GE13. Loose Perak, there might still be hope come GE13 provided the rebranding on transparency, good governance, etc are not just mere rhetorics.

If it is clear that the rakyat have asked to vote and the powers that be keep refusing because they know they'll lose, that's not tactics, it's sheer stupidity. Tactics is when you time a scheduled election to favour you. What we may forget is the increase in petrol pricing announced to coincide with the Perak issues. That sinks like a stone because it's somewhere in the future and will only grab our attention when we have time to digest it. At the rate things are going, we will be distracted until September and suddenly BANG, we'll have a petrol price increase and the govt can say we were told ages ago and no one complained. sweet. We may balso forget the PKFZ scandal, and happily Eli isn't very newsworthy any more and probably, they seem to be losing their appatite for bye elections anyway.
To pass the buck to the Sultan is very sneaky. Presumably he can't independently make the decision as he's 'got no power' to do so. And they will certainly make sure that Nizar isn't able to go and ask him.

1. If back to House of Assembly, BN will win with 31 vs 28 from Pakatan.

2. If go back to people, TDM has predict Pakatan will win maybe more seat compare with 8 March 08.

3. Can we trust with what TDM has prediction?

4. One things to bare in mind that sentiment among malay in Perak should be take concern. Belief me, UMNO and TDM will use this tactic and tell the malay. "If you vote for PAS or PKR that means you will vote for DAP".

5. For me battle in the poll is very difficult to predict. Let the people of Perak to determine which one they want.

1. Who is the rightful speaker
2. What is the status of the "under the tree" assembly. If valid, Zambry and 6 exco have to go out of the assembly together with the 3 frogs( Iagree with Tun when he said don't take in representative who are corrupted to support BN).
3. Is the May 7th sitting valid? if the above is 1/2 valid.
Tun too many confusing event has taken place. Najib did not calculate his risk when taking over Perak. Now how to repair the damage. Only one way - dissolve and let the rakyat decide. Even BN perform badly, its for BN to show that come GE 13 , BN is the people choice. This is the best method of problem solving. Any other ways will not settle the Perak issue. Even by force or whatever method BN use to govern the state - issue will be croping up till the next GE 13 which will eventually hit BN not only in Perak the after effect into other states too.- the risk to too high to gamble.

So what are these few million ringgits in comparison. These were the same ones who were willing to trade their morality and integrity ( if they have any ) for BN's enticements, best known only to themselves.

Just give the mandate back to the Perakians. WE move on from there.

Dr. M is not making any sense. Also he says he hopes people will forget. People wont forget if BN continues to head Perak unethically. It will be a daily reminder until the next elections.

Staying in power is tantamount to betraying the rakyat of Perak when you insist on doing so. If Dr.Mahathir knows he should do the right things not for assembly votes. This will only make people hate BN forever.

Dear Dr M, the problem is not who is the MB, but what the people want! MB case can be solved through court but the results is not convinced. The people do not want Nizar or Zambry, PR or BN; they just want a ADUN that truly represent their will. As long as the 4 frogs do not step down, people will not satisfy. I hope that BN understand that they need to win the people support, not the election or court case or MB selection.

Mahathir does not really know the law. The Kuala Lumpur High Court has on 11 May 2009 declared Nizar is the rightful MB of Perak. Zambry just obtained stay of execution from Court of Appeal the following day but it has not reversed the High Court's verdict that Nizar is the rightful MB. How dare Mahathir to advise Najib and Zambry to proceed with the Emergency Session of the Perak Assembly to cast a vote of no confidence on Nizar? Isn't the act of an Emergency Session if ever held considered illegal? Najib should get better consultants than Mahathir if he wants BN to survive the next Perak State election.

I recall that only Karpal Singh voiced his outrage over Anwar's strategy. The senior Lim and the junior Lim and the other DAP stalwarts (Tian Chua, Tony Pua and Jeff Ooi among others) were either supportive of Anwar's strategy (which was morally ambiguous and not based on principle).

Now Anwar, the Lims etc are crying foul. When you back a wounded tiger into a corner and go for blood, what do you expect? Sweetness and light?

It seems to me that Anwar etc is only sowing what they reaped, and that all the glib talk about "crossovers" is coming back to bite them in their collective butts!

It is not a gentleman comments from Tun, this is not what the people want. They want a by-election.
Most of the people feel it is unfair if there is no by-election. If BN feels that they have the support of the people then they should agreed to a by-election, why are they holding it back. It makes us feel that they are afraid of it. The 3 frogs are immediately booted out in a by election.
They know it in their heart that they may loss terribly. that is way they prefer to go to court. Should they win in court they will loss the respect from the people and their dignity will be down to the drain. It also tarnished the future of all the BN component parties.

He is right, of course. Malaysians have very short memories and are, on average, very stupid - product of a very successful (for UMNO & BN) education system.

But for him to say these things out loud...that sounds like political suicide. I wonder if he's losing his mind. If so, that really is cause for celebration.

Knowing that the people of Perak wants and demands a by-election in order that they can choose their own representatives, Mahathir does not want a by-election for Perak just because he knows that BN will not win. For BN, it's always the party's interest before the interest of the people.

This is what his previous reign as Prime Minister is all about! If BN cannot win, then, damn the will of the people...who cares??? Who cares what the people wants......who cares what they demands.....as long as BN cannot win, there shall be no elections/by-elections! He is only looking after the interest of the party and not the interest of the people. Look at what he had done to UMNO itself! Installing a system whereby there could be no credible challengers to his position......and, what happened in the end??? It had always been his own interest before anything else - even his own party.

What if BN can manipulate the system and Zambry becomes the MB and BN takes over control of the state? Do they care what the people wants then? The anger of Perakians are beyond any fiddlings to calm them down. They want a say in who they want as representatives. This anger will turn to hatred and BN will lose big time if they try to stuff their party's interest down the throats of Malaysians.

Perhaps that's the answer. Perhaps BN should listen to Mahathir. Then, perhaps, the people of Malaysia will only have to wait for a few more years before PR can do the right thing and look after the interest of those who are so blatantly ignored by BN.

I was born in the 60's, have kids in the 80's.......and as I relive the past till the present.....and ponder upon the future, when my kids shall be the future of the country.....I realised one thing clearly....
I am glad I had the foresight to do what's right, what's fair, what's needed to guide them towards their world, which is the technology era. Internet gave them worldwide instructors of diversified knowledge of any fields, new discoveries are already at our doorstep. My kids have access to world politics, can compare capabilities and respect the wise and worthy, discuss games, strategy, studies, work, hobbies openly in school. The kids today need capable leaders to bring them to a higher platform in life.

I wondered what our present BN politicians are doing, debating and debating on the spot of the same issues over and over again among themselves with closed minds, going back to the past forefathers and history for advise without realising what's good for them is no longer applicable to us, present citizens any longer, what more the future. If you guys want to stay in power, at least please do it now, send strong messages to us, restore our faith in you, allow kids to look up to you in respect. We want good actions, fair deals, wise decisions without fear or favour, regardless of race and religion, not sweet words and money talk over the mass media.
Until we see that happening, we'll keep observing the oppositions until the next GE in hopes that they will be able to lead the country in your place. You have 3 more years.....

This time around, I think BN will win the Perak state election... Now, can we call for an election????

If Anwar had been able to do a similar coup, then, I am 100% sure, he and his coalition parties will be mired in the same messy situation. They will be the ones who will be facing the wrath of the nation.

It's not an issue to say something - just ask the politicians.....Heck, I can say that I will win $1million dollars nby the end of this month! Yesterday is history and tomorrow is no mystery in so far as the political situation of Perak is concern. The PM has said that he want to be the PM for all Malaysians but he is only looking after the interest of himself. He is desperately clinging onto power as otherwise all the skeletons will spill out from the cupboard. Already we have seen Khir Toyol's escapade to Disneyland and Middle East and the Selangor land fiasco.

Always remember , the higher you climb, the harder you will fall. The more you push the rakyat, the more they will remember you. Please don't try and set the record of being the first PM of Malaysian who cannot complete even one term in office. Looking at the pace of the development in Perak, you are already 3/4 of the way there.

Give the people of Perak to choose who they want to lead them.

The PM 's motto of 1Malaysia is don't reflect you well at all. Try the well established motto of Suzie Orman whom I have heard years ago : People first , then things then money, now you stay safe. I have only heard the 1Malaysia motto ever since he became the PM last month but everything he does is directly the opposite.

I have Malaysian friends from all over the world and every one of us is watching the Perak development very closely. Most of the Perak folks overseas are prepared to come back and vote when the State Assembly is dissolved.
