SEPANG, May 17 - Foreign Minister Datuk Anifah Aman today said he is ready to face Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in court over his statement that Anwar had offered him the deputy prime minister's position if he crossed over to Pakatan Rakyat (PR) last year.
"Oh yes, I have no problem with that, as the foreign minister I have better things to do, Anwar is the least of my concern," said Anifah when asked whether he is prepared to face legal action by Anwar after he refused to retract his remark.
Anifah, at a joint press conference with Hillary Clinton in the United States on Thursday, said Anwar had offered him the deputy prime minister post to lure him to defect to PR, but Anwar had yesterday denied the allegation and threatened to take legal action.
Speaking to reporters upon his arrival from the United States, Anifah said that Anwar had called him once last year to make the offer."I told him, 'Don't waste your time, I am not willing to leave Umno and Barisan Nasional'," said Anifah adding that the matter was an open secret.
When asked when the call was made he said he could not remember as he did not treat the call from Anwar as something important.
Anifah said he only revealed what Anwar did in Washington because a reporter there had asked about the charges against the opposition leader.
"There was a reporter who asked a question about whether all the charges against Anwar were politically motivated so I told the reporter that I have utmost faith in our judicial system, there is no need to doubt, our judicial system is free and independent," said Anifah citing the recent High Court declaration on the Perak crisis which favoured the PR.
He added that Anwar was being irresponsible by tarnishing the country's image in the United States which is Malaysia's largest trading partner.
"I believe it is necessary to tell the Americans the truth," said Anifah.

So what is he trying to proof?
He quote "I have utmost faith in our judicial system, there is no need to doubt, our judicial system is free and independent"unquote. After the Perak drama,do you think the Rakyat still have faith with the judicial system? We know even this guy is drag to the court he will still walk free, why?you know la...........

If this is a so-called ``open secret'', it has taken a long time to filter into the marketplace. Ahh, suddenly, he has faith in the Malaysian judiciary.

Utmost faith in our judiciary system & our judiciary system is free & independent?? You must be joking. Perhaps we can have a poll on MT to find out how many would actually agree with that our judiciary system is free & independent.
I believe it's necessary to tell the Americans the truth??? What truth are you talking about? Did you mean the international print media are all jokers & reporting lies? It seems like you've just added another mockery record to Bolehland!

And why you didn't spill out the beans during the Permantang Puah buy-election? You could have killed Anwar for good. Why now? To buttress up a faltering '1Malaysia' sandcastle of Najib?
And also, why didn't you warned the Americans about Datuk Seri Jamaludin Jarjis' impending appointment as ambassador?
Don't forget he got itchy hands too, which tend to roam unabated into forbidden territories. Obama has to be careful not to leave the first Lady alone.
Be forewarned all American women: protect yourself with the best chastity belt that money can buy, with triple lock mechanism (Abloy locks are recommended). Here comes the unrepentant sex pervert from Bolehland.

It sounds to me that he did more damage to the image of Malaysia by what he said than to Anwar's reputation. He displayed how small minded he was in his thinking by engaging in a personal attack on Anwar that seem to have the effect of confirmig what the reporter asked. How can someone like this expect to be taken seriously on the international stage. Maybe it's us the people of Malaysia who should sue him for lowering the image of us Malaysians in the eyes of the world with his inability to provide a direct answer to a simple question. Even the foreign minister of Sri Lanka was able to put a better spin on the autrocities being carried out there by their military than this idiot. Really Najib is this the best you can come up with to represent the country internationally. Aren't we enough of a laughing stock already after the Perak fiasco. We top it off by having a foreign minister who can't even address a simple question posed by the international press.
I really don't think that Anwar should waste his time getting bogged down with this issue. It is inconsequential and there's a lot more important things to focus on instead of being stuck in court over a 'yes you did, no I didn't' issue that will have the effect of detracting the rakyat from the more important issues like the illegitimate government of Perak.

So Anwar, apa lagi? You are being challenged. Unless of course, your earlier threat was just a psychological warefare to intimidate Anifah. So don't give excuses this time that you were not serious in the first place or maybe you will now find reasons to spin lagi. PR supporters will be disappointed that Anwar will not dare to sue Anifah. Don't be, because this is Anwar and he will find all sort of excuses. PR supporters, please wake up from your dreams.

Will Anifah accept my challenge to prove that such a judge now sits on the bench of the Malaysian Court of appeal ? The actions of the courts in Malaysia adjudicating on all except one had been PARTISAN AND A FLAGRANT DISRESPECT OF THE LAW AND THE RULE OF LAW. Mr Anifah's charges cannot be proven by evidence but given the dismal record of Malaysian Courts to administer the rule of law; it will be foolish for DSAI to take this matter because he just cannot expect the Judges to act fairly, and to that extend what can come out of DSAI's attempt to prove his own allegation ? There is nothing fruitful that can come out of a cse of "he says" "I say" nonsense.
I say to DSAI to leave this worm alone and do not by accepting such futile actions get mired by UMNO type distractions.

I am in no position to say who is right or wrong but knowing that DSAI was courting Sabah politicians at the time, it is not impossible for DSAI to have offered a DPM (II) for East Malaysia to the younger Aman. But like his older brother and the rest of the Aman clan, they cannot be trusted. I don't know why DSAI was so blind as to believe that Aman was ready to desert BN. Aman was most probably using DSAI and the threat of defections to strengthen his hand in Sabah.
And DSAI fell hook, line and sinker for it. Please no more defections, no more party hopping, no more frogs jumping. Let sleeping dogs lie so to speak. Spend more time to groom Azmin Ali and Nizar for Pakatan leadership.

Those Msians holding positions in the institutions of governance, including many university vice-chancelors and professors, could'nt do much against the pressure and manipulation because their life, wives, children and general welfare can be adversely affected....if you do not tow UMNO's desire ...no promotion for you! Having been in power for 52 years this culture has permeated to become a value system. If we were to compare the standard of our good governance with developed world UMNO has no standard at all. It's value system ie power craze, power forever, abuse of power, crime with impunity have become internalised into its soul that it is now beyond revamp.
Msian voters must realise that the only way to rid Malaysia of UMNO culture is to vote it out of the system and change. Bring to Malaysia a world class, a first world governance and a governance that can stand the scrutiny of the general public. Let us for once ensure that our future generations have sustainable development and trustworthy goverment.

All the idealistic people forget one thing, Anwar is just a normal man with normal needs and desires. Is it too hard to believe that an offer was made because he did wanted to become PM then on September. Everyone knows he claims he got enough frogs to jump to PR.
Just wait la... Just think for a moment, why do you think anyone want to jump from a commanding ship to a mutinous one. Must have some gula-gula laaa, nowadays no gula-gula, don't talk kok. The gula-gula can be in the form not just in cash la, use your imagination... DPM post, ministers, exco seats, glc appointments... those may not be cold hard cash, but those can generate more than just a one time payment.

i read with disgust the way this dtk anifah aman going round the world talking behind's anwar's back!!! its like he thought the other worlds don't know what is happening to malaysia and that's his job to GOSSIP since he is now a foreign minister.
the thing that curious me is why on earth at that particular time, he didn't say such an offer exists??? why wait until now??? to boast his politic ego i pressume. the world doesn't querry him why the unfairness especially for anti-bn parties because they know the answer coming back from bn politicians are always - 'we are the fairess of all law and order to all malaysians' and 'mind your own business - this is malaysia you are talking about' .
i'm a local malaysian and i can laugh when anifah says he has better things to do than to be aplogetic to anwar. he should has thought about this before saying any thing bad about anwar. i surely hope anwar will not let men like this off the hook so easily. unless anifah can produce evidence and not only hear-says, my conclusion is that HE'S LYING !!! and the world knows it. they might even think the whole BN are LIARS so they will 'HANDLE WITH CARE' . ha-ha-ha.

It is the same case with the Police, the JPJ, the bombaman, the gomen people, the greedy corporate scums, the makcik jual pisang bagi diskaun sebab org beli pakai songkok, and many others... Some bad, some good. Everyone makes it like if something is not according to your belief system or your own type of judgment, then it must be corruption all the way top to bottom.
