BEIJING, June 4 — Datuk Seri Najib Razak has again said he “had nothing to do with” Altantuya Shaariibuu, laughing off the federal opposition’s attempts to link him to the murdered Mongolian model whose killers now face the gallows.
“There’s no evidence,” Najib told the Associated Press in Beijing where he is visiting in the footsteps of his father, second prime minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein who opened ties with communist China.
“They’ve not offered any evidence at all ... I have sworn in the name of God, of Allah, that I had nothing to do with her and I can’t go beyond that.”
The prime minister added what he described as a “tongue in cheek comment,” saying the fact that Shaariibuu was staying at “a two-star run down hotel” at the time of her death was further indication that he had not been involved with her.
“If she was my girlfriend, she will be totally insulted if I put her (there),” he said with a laugh.
Opposition leaders have repeatedly tried to link Najib to Shaariibuu’s death. The 28-year-old Mongolian model and translator was having an affair with his close friend and aide Abdul Razak Baginda when she was shot on Oct. 19, 2006. Her body was then blown up in a forest outside Kuala Lumpur, and only fragments were found.
The opposition had claimed in various election campaigns and in cyberspace that his close association with Abdul Razak makes him suspect.
Abdul Razak has acknowledged the affair but was acquitted last October of abetting the slaying. Elite special services policemen Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri and Sirul Azhar Umar were sentenced to death in April for her murder, though the trial never established what their motive was.
They have appealed.
Controversial blogger and Malaysia Today news portal editor Raja Petra Kamarudin is on the run and a fugitive after skipping bail in several cases incluidng criminal defamation, sedition and Internal Security Act (ISA) related to his postings linking Najib and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor to the murder.
Police had also banned any mention of Altantuya in several recent by-elections.

I dont know who is telling the truth. But what I know is that as soon as Balasubramaniam issued an SD he disappeared without any trace. The police seems to be mum about the investigation on the two SDs
Two policemen have been convicted of the murder, but the prosecution could'nt prove these two had a motive for the murder as she is a stranger to both of them. That means there is a perpetrator out there some where walking free. Even her ex boyfriend who had an affair with her has gone free.

The fact that many buys the link between Najib and Altantuya speaks of only one thing - the PM has lost his integrity and credibility in the eyes of the rakyat. The fact remains that Najib did not become PM out of the choice of the rakyat. He became PM out of the choice of the incompetent ex-PM who has now perpetuated his incompetency for the next four years by hand-picking Najib. Hence, Najib, just like Zambry, has not undergone the ultimate test i.e. the test of the GE. The coming GE will be that ultimate test of popularity and trust. The PM should reflect on why the rakyat choose to believe the Opposition despite their lack of evidence. Of course no evidence can be presented against Najib in the murder case...The C4 used in bombing can only be taken out by authorisation by Najib, the then Minister of Defence, but it seemed that the 2 'kuchirat' police officers managed to somehow smuggle the explosives out from a highly secure environment. The key witness, the PI (sorry, I forgot his name as he disappeared from the news too soon after his sworn affidavit - which was pivotal for a case against Najib - was withdrawn amidst pressure by you know who!) had to seek refuge somewhere else to protect the lives of his family. The one abetting the crime went scot-free when he was acquitted, after he and his family accepted a huge bribe from Najib. Anyone who mumbles or even breathes her (sacred?) name gets a chance to be hauled up by the police (which, by the way, are under the purview of kris-wielding coussie Hishammuddin) and spend the night (or the rest of his/her life) in jail...

It is not that the evidence not found.
It is the government hiding and wiping out evidence.
Mysterious deletion of immigration data , Bala and his entire family vanishes into thin air , changes of judges , changes of defending lawyers , changes of DPP , etc. As there are more to it.
The truth is still hidden . meanwhile najib is a free man until then.

I see the cracks. A guilty person can't keep the game up under pressure forever and his unthinking '2 star hotel' comment is yet another indication that he's on shaky ground.

I could have perhaps accepted Mr Najib as PM but for this episode of the gruesome murder of Ms Altantunya and the unscrupulous receiving from and then suppressing the evidence given by Mr Shaaribu - the late Ms Altantunya's father - and then proclaiming that there is no evidence, is really, appalling.

First Altantuya came for her commission that was promise and hard earned money but was murdered at the end of the commission she pursue.
Second her legal entry to Mlaysia was erase ( ???????? who did that, under whose instruction and so on), the Imigration department (IT - boss shall be question how didi the record went missing? The IT boss is accountable for but the court and judge did nothing to investigate, see how Singapore caught the bank employees despite the records were all erase, experts recover all those info's
Third, what happen to the logistic coy in the police force, inventory of the c4, how did it went out, who approve, who sign and what was the last inventory figure, but nothing was ask in the court or the judge.
Come on the whole world is laughing at Najis and we as Malaysian look so stupid despite having all necessary hi tech facilities to solve such accountability issues.
Najis is not recognized internationally, we as Malaysian has responsibility to correct the mistake and change our country image, otherwise it will be too late.

Like any countries will do around the world; any military intelligence know about the fire arm exporting countries/traders and intermediate traders' transactions/activities to take place or taken place; they are all the time following up situations;…instance as a region neabouring country of S.E.A. which has an intention to buy submarine…..mmmm; interesting……… Perhaps all S.E.A. countries' intelligence knew or processed such information.
