KUALA LUMPUR, June 11 – Tengku Temenggong Muhammad Fakhry Petra has filed a police report denying allegations that he had abused his wife Manohara Odelia Pinot.
It is the first step he has taken to clear his name since the scandal broke out and according to his lawyer Mohd Haaziq Pillay, civil action against the 17-year-old Indonesian model and her mother Daisy Fajarina is set to follow.
When asked if the Kelantan prince was categorically denying any and all accusations by Manohara and Daisy, he answered, “definitely.”
Haaziq, who accompanied Tengku Muhammad at the Dang Wangi police station this afternoon, told reporters that a civil suit “against the slander” would also be filed “once I have completed the papers” and that it could be “against anyone who has made these accusations.”
He also explained that the report was made in Malaysia and not Indonesia, where Manohara has filed a report claiming abuse by Tengku Muhammad, because the alleged wrongdoing was said to have occurred in Malaysia.
“There is no legal provision to file it in Indonesia,” he said.
While he refused to respond and comment on behalf of the prince, he said that Tengku Muhammad would be making a personal statement himself in the future.
Today’s press conference was scheduled for 3pm but was delayed repeatedly. It is understood that the prince was being interviewed by the police over the alleged abuses which delayed Haaziq from arriving at the press conference until 8pm.
Haaziq refused to make statements on behalf of Tengku Muhammad despite many questions by Indonesia media and the press conference barely lasted 10 minutes.
The issue continues to make headlines in Indonesia and both the public and authorities there have voiced concern over the case.
Manohara escaped from the prince while in Singapore and returned to Indonesia on May 31.
On Tuesday Manohara lodged a police report against the Kelantan prince and seven others for alleged domestic violence and torture.
Her mother has also claimed that local doctors have found cuts on her chest and needle marks on her back.

Nawawimohamad, when even locals find it difficult to complain against their spouses(especially husbands), imagine the difficulty to complain against royalty. The upper class usually find easy witnesses to find a case against the commoner who made a report and not vice versa. Imagine you going to the local police station and making a report. Then dash for the airport? No chance I think. Worst still for a woman.
If you were in Manohara's shoes, what would you do? If you are an Indonesian (or a foreigner for that matter) and married to a prince who is 2nd in line to a throne, would it be so easy to make a complain? She did, albeit in her country of birth. And that's exactly what the prince did..in his own country. It would great if the prince go to Jakarta and make a report. Then people would want to listen to both sides of the story.

Wonder why is the Kelantan Prince hiding behind everybody???...the last time he was hiding behind his so called friend and now he is hiding behind his lawyer???...is there something he wants to hide???...if he thinks he is right and he wants to sue, why doesnt he come out in the open???...after all this is a matter of husband and wife, nothing to do with his royalty title....nobody is questioning his title, just his action...yes or no????

I wonder. what will anyone of us do if we are in her place.She had the courage and will power.I pray that she will win her case.In Malaysia the politician and royals use police to protect them and easily escape from whatever crime they do.I believe that god is on her side, because she manage to escape with the help of good people ( many mind own business)

i've been following manohara-prince kelantan's case since 1st manohara's mom complaint against TT.. what i found only inconsistencies in all her stories (supported by forumers from malaysia and indonesia). and i also wonder why she kept delaying her medical check up and did it only after 1 week she's in indonesia. that should b the priority insted of jumping from one Tv station to another. she had time to attend final miss indonesia.she even sing and dance like nothing happen in some of her TV roadshows. i wonder exactly what is the looks of traumatized person..... a lot of stories behind it and for those who never dig this stories deeper and just follow it superficially, don't just put the blame on Tengku temenggong. please go to some famous indonesian forums do some reserach about this family's background. i assure u will also have doubts on this case..

Poor girl, imagine only 17 and already she's been abused by her husband, if that is true. But whatever it is, IF the prince has done wrong, he has to face the music, royalty or no royalty. No one should be above the law, when it comes to crime. Why would Manohara run away if there is no case, surely she would have thought about it (running away) when she was constantly abused (it could be physically or mentally). Who would be crazy enough to run away if she is happily married, especially so when she is married to someone with a title and money, she must be stupid enough to do so. But then again people said that love is blind. We do not know the true story but we have our own interpretation judging by the way the drama unfolds. So, let us just wait and see for the next episode.

dunno what to believe lah. i saw the couple at selangor v kelantan football final. she looked happy enough. the only time she looked unhappy was during penalty kicks. those kelantan players made me also so unhappy. if she was not happy, she could have korek the palm of my hand, and sure i jump at opportunity to save her. chivalry is not dead, certainly not among us men from kelantan.

Where is the wounds that she claims? Camera phone picture? You gotta be kidding. Why attend party after escape? Put it properly, have the proper medical exam, go for Australia/Singapore medical and if required filed a suit in Singapore (because she run away from Singapore, should she did not believe the Malaysian Court/or hard to establish a case). Sad Time In Malaysia..what do you accept the prince to do?he is not blind when his fellow subjects are getting off with murders,witness go missing,files gets lost in courts,prisoners having waterbed,coperate figures strip the country,judges work for the rish and famous,poor foreign woorkers pay illegal tax,women get photographed in lock ups..so why as prince i cant do it(sorry its what i see happening )if only the main stream papers allow citizens to give their comment of everyday happenings will only then the goverment will realise..many malaysians who travelled to indonesia for holidays will testify that,many have encountered being harrsed by thier uniform staff for being bad malaysians towards the indonesian workers in malaysia...in other countries responsible people will resign or commit sucide if they did wrong but not in malaysia...sad for myself and fellow malysians...will a thief admit that he stole or will a murderer admit he murdered..beyond resonable doubt does not exsist here..i am an old man pls dont arrest me

It shows that Malaysians will believe everything on the internet, and best of all, especially if it belittles a fellow Malaysian (especially royalties since we 'don't like them'). Those who have contacts within the entertainment industry will tell you that Manohara's mother has been manipulative in the past, even during the wedding, and will continue to be manipulative in the future. The Kelantan family saw problems with the mother - hence the restriction in seeing her - rightly or wrongly.
Wasn't Manohara going out with some rich guy until his indonesian family objected (they saw through the manipulative mother). I urge people to find out more before jumping on the 'high' ground.

Agreed with all the comments by commenter 'me'. All of you should do a background check on manaohara's family then ou all can see some doubts in the case.
Good for fakry in filing the police report and of coourse he needs a lawyer to represent him. Empty vessels makes the most noise like manohara. :)
