Those who hold compulsory 30% equity is WEAK?!?!?!?!?! Hadi my dear, these people drive Ferrari, Merc, BMW n Lexus. Not the regular Malay buddy. These rules enriches those small amount of Malay. Matter of fact is individuals, individuals who are aligned to BN.

Hadi, how many friends of yours in Kelantan were the one "invited" to be local partners by foreign firms?

His thinking is:
SOME Bumiputeras are poor.
Therefore, ALL bumiputeras must be given monetary assistance.

That's non-sequitor logic.

If you want to treat everybody equally, then please just do so. It's not hard. There are poor people from all races.

Ironically, by artificially boosting the Bumiputera's via quota and 'rights' without a price imposed, you are actually forcing the non-bumiputeras to improve on their resourcefulness, competitiveness and flexibility in order to survive in your unbalanced playing field.

30% or 50%. 50 years or a hundred. You can fatten them up all you want.

Under achievement is not the Malays' fault. It is the fault of whom who manage the country.
UMNO (yes UMNO and UMNO only, no other to blame) connected politicians get rich, rapid rich and super rich by abusing NEP. They let the the ordinary Malays rot in the rural and the kampung.

30% of the economy pie has been reaped by "Malays", as believed and proven by many economists. It is only too bad that those "Malays" who reaped the 30% are only the elite group of UMNO-putras.

The question is, what do we do now? Do we continue to let UMNO abuse the NEP, squeeze the blood and sweat out of other ethnic groups, squander away the natural resources? Mind you, the blood and sweat of other ethnic groups are drying up fast, having to suffered from constant sucking and exploiting by UMNO-putras.

What if there are no Chinese, no Indians, no Iban, no Kadazan left in the country? What if the rest all pupus and Malays are the only race left in the country? Whom are you going to squeeze from?

OR~ we change the government, throw away UMNO and the BN natangs. We recover the huge astronomical wealth that UMNO and BN natangs have stolen from us and we share the wealth in fair and square ways.

If anyone from PAS is stilling thinking of colluding with UMNO so to have a share in exploiting the country, they might as well go and join UMNO, like what Tuk Aziz said.

It is now clear who Hadi is. I feel he should not put on a mask and stay as President of PAS. He should join UMNO. There are many way to help weaker people or less fortunate people. Erecting walls like quotas certainly is not the way.

So, the government drops the 30% Bumiputera equity requirement in public companies and replaces it with 50% public shareholding given to Bumiputera investors.

Hello Hadi, (sudahkah tuakah?) The Government just replaced giving 30% Bumiputera equity with 50% Bumiputera equity. (Sure the current system better benefits the UMNOputra more now, since the current system requires money to make more money). But since most malays equate
UMNOputra == orang melayu, the current system has benefits the "Malays" even more.

THis "NNEP" helps the malays/umnoputra even more. Do the Malays need even more help, more sokongan from the Non-malays?

What nonsense is Hadi spouting? Equality for all but at the same time Bumiputera must be given the strength? This is like saying all the cats must be black allover but white at the same time. If Hadi is so concerned about disadvantaged people, what about disadvantaged Indians, for example? What is worse is, Hadi claims to be a Muslim leader. If Umno says what he said, it would not be shocking because Umno is a race-based party. Hadi is a leader of an Islamic party. WHat about poor Indian Muslims for example? In any case, the Islamic party must be the defender of all, Muslims and non-Muslims alike as Islam is concerned about doing justice for all. Didn't Pas say, Pas for all? And Tok Guru Nik Aziz also said that the term Bumiputera is racist.

That's why I don't trust Hadi Awang. He has the same mindset as Umno leaders. Nik Aziz is a true Pas leader and is trusted by all. That's why Pas Kelantan is different from Pas Terengganu.

If 30pc equity remains, I fear the Malays will forever be weak and will never get stronger. Sometimes, methods can be harsh, but in the long term, extremely effective. This is the beginning of a good method to push the Malays to get stronger and improve. Ppl get stronger with obstacles and challenges, and on the other hands, gets weaker and complacent if spoonfed. I hope this knowledge is understood by everyone :-)

I think 30 years is enough for this quota business. After enjoying all the benefits for 30 years, these guys have already become jellyfishes. If we continue to feed them, they will eventually become parasites feeding on the rakyat! Time to let them stand on their own feet!!!!!!

The way PAS is moving, clearly reveal their weaknesses in economy. It is OK to have a clean fight to gain people support but not this one. It is against the flow of our country economy recovery which many do not agree.

It shows that the government is reforming, by ensuring that public spread are 50% bumiputra instead of just standard 30% bumi holding. This means not some crony or alibaba will be holding a 30% instead 12.5% proper single bumi holding it. Whether we will achieve the 50% public spread quotas will be the issue - which will actually show that the Bumi don't hold that much wealth overall - just some elitist. To me its not a direct failure of NEP but of the implementors.

If you ask me, Bumis have a "weakness" mentality. You are what you think you are!!!! Stop making excuses for yourselves!!

Same old tired argument. Hadi take a walk in the affluent residential areas in the Klang Valley and see for yourself whether the Malays are weak. You should concentrate on the poor Malays, poor Chinese, poor Indians and poor everyone and give them positive affirmative actions based on needs and merits. Hadi, just like some of our rulers as well as UMNO, has to decide whether he's a muslim or a racist. The two cannot coexist in the same person.

No one can challenge the Notion of Ketuanan Melayu provided in the spirit of Independence of Malaysia. Bumiputra is deserved to be given everything in this country, not only 30% shares. As long as the Malay is strong, Malaysia will be strong. Although an UMNO member, I support the comment of Hadi.

It would be great if Hadi and UMNO can take this idea to the United Nations and start tapping into getting aid from the rest of the world as well. This would at least relieve some burden on the minority in Malaysia.

I support the NEP. It has made force me to become the person I am today. The NEP has made me a tiger, a starved animal, far fiercer that most predator I have come to meet and crush overseas. Sure NEP has been punishing. Even with local community support, a full quarter of the malaysian chinese youths do not make it. I hear the problem is worse with the indian population.

I can not to be lazy. I am always angry and hungry. Forced to be the top of the food chain. But I rather be this way. I enjoy the commanding view. A farm fed goat will never stand a chance against a Malayan Tiger, half mad from starvation. It is the natural order of things.

So Hadi, enjoy the NEP. It breeds tigers that will always forever tower over you.
