KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 - The PKR Kulim Bandar Baru MP today defended the Kedah state government’s decision to demolish a pig abattoir in Kampung Berjaya, the oldest and the only such facility in the state capital.
Zulkifli Noordin explained that the pig abattoir was an old issue because the slaughter house had been operating illegally for too long.
“The Kedah government has given a month’s notice and have provided an alternative location. They themselves have requested a month’s notice to move and the period has expired. The state government was right in its decision,” he told reporters in the parliament lobby.
Yesterday Kedah DAP pulled out its lone representative from the PAS-led state government. The party’s secretary-general Lim Guan Eng has blamed it on the failure of the PAS-led government to give equal treatment to all “Kedahans”.
Zulfifli ridiculed Kedah DAP and called it stupid for giving rise to the perception that PR was not united.
He also warned DAP’s national leaders to be more careful in their statements because he was worried that Malaysians may perceive that DAP was trying to manipulate PR.

He also warned DAP’s national leaders to be more careful in their statements because he was worried that Malaysians may perceive that DAP was trying to manipulate PR.///
> DAP's action DID NOT give rise to any perception at all that PR was not united.
On the contrary, it shows that democracy is very much alive within PR, where one can agree to disagree.
> Perception that DAP is manipulating PR? Not at all. Misconception, perhaps.
DAP is trying to demonstrate that there is a need for more consultation among component parties within PR. There must be mutual respect and treating one another with dignity.
The rakyat's well-being, rights and liberties have to be looked after and defended, even if there are differences and contentious issues.
> On being stupid.
Which is more "stupid" : 1) Barging into a conference room where right-minded people are discussing
in a civilised manner issues of major interest to society, OR
2) Withdrawing from a governing body to protest against presumably
wrongful or unwise action?

This is what I want to see as a Malaysian, expressing openly one’s view for all to see. So that we know the standard set and the pull out helps us remember it. Now, it should impose on PAS to act by the same standard on all other illegal structures.
When one has a chance to express one’s displeasure and get a response albeit acceptably nasty, it makes one feels that he belongs to this place.
The pull out suggests that there was earlier appeal that had fallen on deaf ears. So there must a mis-spelling there – The correct Malaysian spelling for this subject should be stewpig.

if upgrading the existing abbatoir is too expensive, locate a new site and build an up-to-specs one.
if there is a relocation issue, set a realistic timeframe, start building the new one and relocate.
if you are the lone representative in the state assembly, learn to influence and convince the assemble with your agenda, learn.
dont walk out the assembly, like a child.
solve problem with a set of governed facts, set goals and narrow down the issue to a sound conclusion.
Does all the EXCO of Kedah need a project managment or problem solving course to learn from?
I am happy to teach one to all of you.

Cant you see BN is putting the heat on you and turning the tables on you. Do not fall into their trap as they are using the main media stream to create more confusions and discord among you on this small Kedah issue!
Please look at the bigger picture for the coming GE13!
All the best! Show them that you can begin the journey with an end in mind!

Macam lah babi diharamkan dari Kedah. Kan MB dah cakap, bende ni hal kecik, gaduh hari ni esok i love you you love me balek, lagipon tempat sembelihan baru akan diwujudkan ganti yang lama yang dah lama nyusahkan penduduk sekitar.
Tak patut pon jadi isu awai2 lagi. Awat DAP pi keluaq pakatan? Kate je tegakkan demokrasi. Tapi tak nak ikot cakap majoriti. Demokrasi kan tertegak atas keputusan ramai?
And then Lim Guan Aik appeared tonite in a harsh tone, condemning its coalition partner PAS, on national television, for like ONE WHOLE MINUTE, UNEDITED. How da heck people gonna say this whole thing being spin doctored by BN's media when a person representing DAP condemning its partner right below their enemy's nose?
DAP Perak Memang Bangang.

I agree with you that the slaughterhouse was illegal and should make way. I hope PR's meeting this weekend would solve this and other pressing issues like Kampung Buah Pala in Penang.
It is good that PR's component parties are voicing out their opinions unlike in BN where only UMNO's opinion counts. In the long run, PR would be better off because of this trait. However, in the short run, it would be demonised by MSM.
All said, as much as DAP's action in Kedah has led to the perception PR is not united, you yourself stick out like a sore thumb vis-a-vis other PR issues in the past.
You have to get your act together as well.

In this country, only PAS that's not racial. Since Malay in the country is predominantly Islam, it is unavoidable that mostly PAS supporters are mostly MALAY.
If PAS is an Islamic party, say, in Xian region in China, millions of their supporters shall be Chinese. PAS struggle has always been for ISLAM. And according to the true teaching of Islam and if we read the history of the first Muslim countries, Mecca and Medina, we shall see how the Muslim treats their non Muslim fellow citizen. It was fair and justified.
But when the Jews (as a race) started to be racial in their dealings with the others, and when the Arabs started to behave like the barbaric Arab race, all hells broke loose.
So.....any political parties which are racially inclined will not work in a multi-racial country like Malaysia.
UMNO, MCA, MIC, Gerakan, DAP (if their racially inclined, which we can see quite obvious!) shall become irrelevant sooner or later. Only parties which have their true objectives go beyond racial prejudice and criteria shall prevail.
So...DAP, go ahead and leave PR. PAS leaders and supporters shall not budge. Only UMNO in BN will be afraid and can be black mailed if races other than Malay do not support them. UMNO knows that now they do not have full backing by their own race that they 'konon - kononya perjuangkan'.
UMNO now is not for Malays but for those people who wants projects. You do not have to be Malay, if you sokong UMNO, even you're a Chinese, Indian , Kadazan or Mat Salleh, you'll get your projects.

On the one hand we want good governance and the rule of law, and yet on the other we have this situation. One thing though: everything could have been spiced up by the mainstream media.
