The bulldozers would be there after the expiry of the one month's notice. LGE would then be blamed for everything. The blackening of LGE and the DAP led Penang state govt has gotten underway starting with Hindraf's assault on his "uncaring " administration. Oil would then be poured on fire and everything would take on a racial tone. Meanwhile the origin seller and buyer ( Gerakan and Umno) of the land sit looking pretty and rubbing their hands in glee with what is happening to DAP and PR as a whole.

This Thomas Chan is a heartless and uncaring businessman. He cannot use the government as a shield to his greedy corporate act. The Penang govt must not be the middleman. Its job to ensure fair compensation to the villagers. Until there is agreement, the state govt must make sure this developer do not use strong arm tactics to scare the people away. This is a corporate gangster.

we just can blame the penang present government and guan eng! we ask we can win federal government in mar 8th! is federal court decision! HINDRAF shd go Kuala Lumpur instead!

May i ask the resident in kampung buah pala hold the land title or not ? If the land was sold by Gerakan government to the developer, that means the the land doesnt belong to the resident there, so does it make them squatters right from beginning?

What is the origin of this problem? if the land belongs to the government, what is sold under the previous government will need to be answered by the them, gerakan. now you are talking about a village for 4 generations as claimed by the people, why hasnt them be granted land title? and other the other hand, why didnt they took the diligent attitude to obtain land title for their own security?

The present government cannot do too much because they cannot take control of the ruling of the court. the federal court's decision will need to be obeyed by all. this is again an act of seperation of power. If the matter is taken to court, then thats the way to resolve it.

Goodwill money should be paid to the resident, not the state government, does the developer thinks the new PR state government is here to do the dirty eviction job on their behalf?

Hindraf are just a bunch of nincompoops! No sympathy for such idiots!

I'm glad the Penang state government has taken some action to warn the developer. It should do the most it can within its power to stop this demolition and destruction of the people's livelihoods.

During the Hindraf initial attempt of standing up for the Indian community, I, a non-Indian, was impressed of their strategic pull the international attention ( sueing UK's QE ).

However this round - I ended up disgusted.
1. attempt to defrock Penang of heritage status is like burning the forest for the tree! Apa ni?
2. go threaten MIC ala Semivalue - LGE hands are tied. Lagipun Putrajaya dont want to give PR $$ to even sustain ekonomi more else to compensate squatters pulak! Do work with LGE to help these folks.
3. I hope Utaya will use his IQ effectively to help the correct politicians strengthen and win the PutraJaya then only they have the $$ to help all POOR RAKYAT which is what Hindraf goal is right?

All the people here. I dont know whether you all from DAP or PR. But be fair. And no heard feeling. Don't blame everything to the previous government. They just want to bring development for the state. If there is no development, then the resident will blame that no development. If development, they will complaint government sell the land for development. How do you all think? Do u got brain?

Now Hindraf is asking LGE to steo down cause he promise to give back the land to the resident there, but he make the empty promise. That is his fault. He said it to get support. Before the election the land already sold, how could he say want to give back the land to the resident? if he already promise at that time, then is his fault. He give empty promise. He just know how to blame. He know how to do a good drama. to get sympaty.

That is rumah setinggan, the land not belong to the resident. This is something like you stay at people land. And the developer had also pay for the compensation although the land not belong to that people. So what else that the resident want? If this land can be make back to the resident by LGE, DAP or PR Government, then WHY should we other resident buy at house? We can just build a house on the government land. Then if the government want to take back the land, we will fight for it. Is this logic? Don't just read, but process what people write here, whether is right or wrong. Don't just fool by these people.

It is a fact that the land was sold below market value during BN's time. That is the fact that nobody can change even with the resignation of LGE. And it is also a fact that now since the Federal Court decided in the favour of the developer, no one including LGE can reverse the decision. Promises are made during any bloody election. Are you that naive to understand that? Whether it is fulfil or not that is a secondary. Just becaouse LGE may have made a mistake of misleading the whole thing, is it fair for us to ask him to resign just because of 20 over familly? Are you representing the whole Penang when you put the blame on LGE?

Coming back to the subject of making empty promises. For the past decades, how many promises were made by BN that was not fulfilled? Did Hindraf stage a demonstation when the Malay squatters or Chinese squatters were demolished? Sound racist right? It will only be a recist undertone if only you wish it to be a racist undertone..and the way I look at it, you Hindraf is at par with UMNO...pot calling kettle black.

BN government stole the land thorugh legislative mean and then sold it to a prviate company. Those Indians staying at a same plot of land for 150 years legally are then called squatters by Chinese chavinists.

If I follow this logic, UMNO Ahmad maybe right to called Chinese "pendatang" because most of them are residing in Malaysia for less than 100 years.

People who reside on land that do not belong to them are called SQUATTERS. Sooner or later they get evicted. Not just in Penang but throughout the country and involved all races. Squattering is also an international problem involving both developing and developed countries...cities like Mumbai, Hong Kong, New York, London and LA also evict squatters no matter how long they have been squatting there. That is the cold and cruel fact....but a necessary fact of LAW to protect owners of properties in a democracy.
Hindraf, don't spin this into a racial matter. You are beginning to show yourself as a bunch of lawless racial bigots. Even umno has to abide by the judgement of the court when their party was ruled illegal by the Supreme Court of the Land.
