KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 — Datuk Zaid Ibrahim issued an open invitation today for Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (pic) to join PKR and reject what he says is the racism and fascism which has become prevalent in Umno.
Zaid, a former minister who was sacked from Umno, said in a posting on his blog this morning that Tengku Razaleigh was the most senior Umno leader who was not a racist.
The former minister, who joined PKR recently, also took aim at Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak for keeping quiet over the racial overtones displayed by Umno-controlled newspapers over the controversial death of DAP political aide Teoh Beng Hock.
“Only a Malay prime minister who is not racist can save this country.
“Tengku Razaleigh is a strong nationalist; indeed he is a pure Malay fighter but we never hear in his speeches anything which is hateful or racially insulting,” said Zaid.
Zaid also appeared to mock Najib in heaping praises on Tengku Razaleigh.
“He will not use the police and or the MACC to bring about the downfall of his political rivals. He will not appoint racists as newspaper editors. His wife will not be offended if her photograph does not appear in the newspapers.”
The remarks are a clear reference to the Pakatan Rakyat’s (PR) accusations against the Barisan Nasional (BN) in allegedly using the police to aid in the recent power grab in Perak, and also the current anti-graft investigations of the Selangor government which has now been overshadowed by the suspicious circumstances of Teoh’s death.
Zaid also appeared to be referring to an article on Sunday in the Umno-controlled Berita Harian that was written by New Straits Times group managing editor Zainul Ariffin Isa.
Zainul had suggested that the opposition was using Teoh’s death as part of an agenda to weaken Malay-controlled institutions. He also criticised Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim for questioning “those of his own race to act fairly”.
Zaid said that it was unfortunate that Tengku Razaleigh still harbours hope that he can save Umno.
“For me, Umno today is no longer the Umno which Ku Li fought for previously. I think it is better if Ku Li considers joining Parti Keadilan Rakyat.”
Zaid said that many Umno leaders and lawmakers could no longer differentiate their nationalist responsibilities from racist and fascist thinking.
“That is why they cannot save the country. That is why Berita Harian and Utusan Malaysia constantly reflect evil philosophies of racial and religious hatred.
“It does not make sense when Umno leaders ask their media messengers to describe the anger and sadness felt by Malaysians over Teoh’s death as politicisation.
“They even describe the sadness of the public as something which is questioning Malay institutions. Since when is MACC a Malay institution? This is the kind of racial poison which has been absorbed into the minds of Umno’s leaders and media,” he said.
Zaid also expressed hope that the Malay community would not be “deceived by racial poisoning,” because he said the Malays were a noble and responsible people.
The Malays, he said, were also proud of their Islamic values which viewed with contempt any form of racism.
“When the Malays and their leaders reject racism and fascist thinking then only can Malaysia be saved,” he said.

Teoh's death is not about race. It is about the death of a Anak Malaysia.
Comments about MACC is not about race-domination or about undermining a certain race. It is about their performance as an independent agency and professionalism, or rather the lack of it.

Please save our beloved Malaysia for our children.
Give them a place which is safe & full of hope.
We really need your strength.
We need Malay to tell Malay that our country is in trouble.
Chinese & Indian feel so helpless.
Please do something.

I understand you still 'sayang' UMNO. But do try to save it from the outside. Let it die once and you step in to rebuild it back to the UMNO we knew from Tunku Abdul Rahman's day.
You are the chosen one.
Take the leap and jump. How many years you have left? Let's do something memorable together for Malaysia with ZI.

Time and time again, the major races have ignored the fact that the true inhabitants of this land are the Orang Asli and that we are all "pendatangs".
While the major races spend time calling each other names, our Orang Asli are being driven out of their land, their places of worship destroyed and aids meant for them fell into the wrong hands.
If only we can return to the basic fundamentals and right the wrongs in our worldly pursuit and treatment of the Orang Asli, then we are on the right path to racial harmony.

Racism and facism will destroy this beautiful multi racial and multi cultural nation.
Racists and facists are present in nearly all if not all the race based political parties... so we
should get rid of them. Reject them as and when we can.....................

The existing prophecy “RAHMAN” ends with an “N”. Tengku must join the alternate government before GE13 and form the next Government; he will be the first PM of the “RAZALEIGH” prophecy. I have a spiritual dream and this is going to happen. I implore you to join the alternate government and form the next government, now that we have in place the next three PMs

The nationalist says his country is always right. He reduces his country to an abstraction or idea, not just his home.
This is not very different from someone saying he is proud to be of certain ethnic origin, which in my opinion is quite stupid really,
because none of us chose our parents or geographical location we happened to be born.
A patriot may accept that his country could be wrong, but loves it anyway and strives to improve it thru constructive criticism.
Patriotism is relaxed. Nationalism is rigid.
That's why sometimes a nationalist may find a patriots good natured humor about their country quite annoying, does this sound familiar ?
That's also why in my opinion the ultra nationalist UMNO berates anyone who do not subscribe to their view as unpatriotic.

Analogy : 'UMNO elites topple the bridge after crossing it, leaving the Malays stranded on the other side.'
You are on your own, boys. This is UMNO (Baru) for you. It is sickening that they keep blaming the Chinese. (Read TDM's post on chedet)

As the Dark Forces continues with their desperate attempts to take greater & greater control with the aim to disrupt this beloved nation of ours, you are indeed a Brave One who is "God Sent".
You are one who can still remain very "Melayu" and yet would openly stress on the importances of all the other races to live in harmony as the real One Malaysia.
Clearly, this must be the all embracing Attribute of any Malaysian Melayu who aspire to hold the position as the Prime Minister of Malaysia!

1. a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race ABOVE the individual and that stands for a centralized AUTOCRATIC government headed by a DICTATORIAL leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and FORCIBLE SUPPRESSION OF OPPOSITION
2: a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong AUTOCRATIC OR DICTATORIAL CONTROL.

Perhaps it's also not too late toi a true Malaysian patriot - another member of the Kelantan Royal family. Tengku Ahmad Rithauddin was born in the same mould as our Bapak Tunku Abdul Rahman and he has the love of the nation in his blood. Should we have both these 2 senior Warriors in PR, Malaysia will certainly be back on the right track.

Permit me to concur with Yg Berbahagia Datuk Zaid Ibrahim's suggestion and probably many more other fellow Malaysians, that you should consider seriously to join KEADILAN.
Each of us has only a life to lead and it should be viewed as one that is given by none other than God Almighty. God has given us free will to a certain extent and therein probably lies His 'tests' to see what each of us is doing so that He will Alone decide which 'room' each of us will be heading to when our time is up.
After all, it is said in one of the Scriptures, "In My Kingdom, there are many rooms." Simple logic is enough for one to know that when you commit murder, for example, by throwing another soul out of a high building, then the culprits have already booked themselves in that one "Room" which is "Hell".
God Almighty also said, "...and the Meek shall rule the World."
It is my understanding that 'Meek' refers to attributes of humility & obedience. Only then can one have a better chance of managing anything well in accordance with His Will.
YAM Ku Li, you have that attributes to put right all the wrongs that are happening now in our beloved country, Malaysia.
With respects, what is so great with this organisation UMNO that you still want to stick to? It is only a vehicle that was meant to lead but it has unfortunately fallen from grace. Hence, it has failed the 'test' of The Great One.
A leader must openly declare in words & deeds that he is to serve everyone regardless of race & religion. It is simple logic that each and everyone of us comes from the same One & Only God Almighty. And it follows that any discrimination of any single soul is an insult to God Almighty.
A serious crime is to harp & twist on Issues of Race & Religion. Its blasphemy!!
It is an earnest plea that you should act speedily to put Malaysia on track again.
i humbly remain.

It doesn't matter whether one is a Malay, Chinese, Indian, Iban, Kadazan, Murut, Serani, Sakai, Senoi, etc., etc., as far as the nurturing and teaching of morality and humanism is concerned. Virtues are colourless.
It is important for one to know HOW to respect others, and be respected in return; to treat others with dignity, and be treated accordingly in return.
There must be sincere reciprocity and mutuality in treating and accepting one another. Such an approach easily surpasses tolerating one another blindly or through coercion.
It is such sincere and unconditional sense of brotherhood among Malaysians without any tinge of racialism, prejudice, discrimination, or colouration of any kind that must be rekindled, instilled and nurtured in each and every Malaysian.
Morality and magnanimity begin with considering the well-being and interest of others before our own.
Kindness will be repaid with kindness.
It is such gentle and unconditional kindness which will touch the heart, mind and soul of fellow human beings. Only monsters, madmen, and the utterly selfish in mind and heart will never accept such virtues.
Zaid Ibrahim, through his many acts and words, had displayed that unmistakable gentle kindness that Malaysians hoped for and desired.
It is his clear, fair, open, sincere and simple approaches, as opposed to pretensions, which appeal to Malaysian of every ethnic and religious backgrounds.
It is hoped that his sincerity and fervent desire to contribute to a Better and Brighter Malaysia will influence and attract our beloved Ku Li to contribute to similar causes.

Q:hmmm...a PAS elder who has praise for Zaid?
A:how about the PAS Spiritual leader Tok Guru Nik Aziz good enough for you? hahahahaha!!! tok guru went over to Zaid's house for Raya even when he was Law Minister, and at Manek Urai, Zaid was campaigning for the PAS candidate with Tok Guru's support as well.
Q:opportunist? = staying in government as Minister to makan gaji even when Teresa Kok, RPK, and journalist are locked up under ISA
A: he didn't. he said that it wasn't right and he resigned as Minister. hypocrites (in all parties) can say they believe in this and that, and sound nice for the media, but when the chips are down, he delivered and walked the talk. doesn't sound like a hypocrite to me :)

Ku Li will be a great PM for Malaysia but if he stays with UMNO, it is not going to happen because UMNO is supported by their racist members. Now you see why UMNO cannot change. If UMNO change, where is UMNO going to get their support from? Every fair minded and peace loving Malaysian are very happy to get PR now as an alternative. I hope PR does not screw this opportunity up. For once, Malaysian now have a viable choice for a Malaysian government that is not race based.
