I am a non-Malay and have a healthy respect for all races for which I do not judge by the colour of their skin but by the nature of their character. Martin Luther King, an African-American had to say this in White-dominated US of the 1970s in order to push through equality. Look at the African-Americans now. Like other ppl, they have risen from the bottom chains of poverty to the top seat of their nation's leadership. If Utusan challenges us like this, perhaps a Non-Malay Malaysians can rise to this occasion to lead all Malaysians forward.

I found this Utusan article to be very seditious, filled with racial hatred, broiled with prejudices and unbecoming of a Malaysian, if he thinks he is truly one. The writer's comments were largely unsubstantiated, based on feelings and not on facts. If more of these type of articles are published unchecked, it will cause more disharmony and suspicion among all the races who's main desire is to live in peace with themselves and with their neighbours in this country.
The writer's opinion only reflects a deep feeling of inferiority, insecurity and blame others for their plight. In my almost 50 years living in this country, born and bred here, I have not really known or read of other races fighting to take away the rights of the Malays. All I know is that people of all races wanted to be treated fairly, justice be righteously implemented and a good governance that would benefit all Malaysians.
I urge all Malaysians of all races to build themselves to be better with knowledge, skills, right attitude and build this nation. And we can only achieve it by coming together as Malaysians, and not as Malay or Chinese or Indian, or whatever and not to lord over others.
Can we do this? I challenge the Utusan writer to write an article to promote the breaking down of racial barriers and create call for more racial harmony.

When it comes to 'religious sensitivities' the Utusan well discuss the greatness of Islam and how non muslims are 'disrespecting Islam'. When in reality no one disrespects Islam like the people in Utusan. What about the equality under Islam for all Muslims? If I am not a Malay, but am a Muslim, I am not a Bumiputera and thus have no privileges under the NEP. This is race profiling that is wrong in Islam. No reaction from the venerated Ulama on this.

PKR must come out with a clear statement of their position on Malay rights. It is not enough to say that all Malaysians will be treated equally. The DAP's Malaysian Malaysia does not sit well with the Malays as many amongst them do not believe that they are ready for open competition with the Chinese. There must be a clear statement as to how the Malays will be better off without the NEP.

I honestly believe that any Government must commit itself to ensuring that the wealth and opportunities of the nation are shared equitably amongst all its people and that Government policies will always ensure that no one race is left behind.

I grown up in the 60s in a kampung, we had classmates of different races playing together, visiting each other and even spending night trips outstation. We cared not what we ate....Malay friends had their halal food, Indians beef free and Chinese walloped what they could, yet we could sit together chatting away. Do you have such scene nowadays...very rare!

I have never been one siding the opposition but of late, utusan is really digging a very very deep hole for BN. I am starting to feel extreme disgust at Utusan , our PM and DPM. Even my Malays are ashamed of reading these articles . PR doesn't even have to lift a finger to have people to vote for them. As most of us rakyat feels, I don't even care if it is a monkey, gajah, kucing up against a BN , I rather vote for the animals, at least they don't discriminate !! UMNO is still in denial state refusing to change and reform to meet the demand of the Malaysians. Blaming other Malays as cowards will not help UMNO to sustain in the next general election. The propaganda machine is at it again. The kind of article by this propaganda machine creates resentment and division in the country. It's egging and inciting one segment of society to fight for special previleges. Then, in the end, it is the politically connected that sapu 80% of the previleges.

Right Thinking Malays espousing humanist First World policies and adhering to the Human Right Charter are HEROES. The real cowards are those who think their race will be destroyed simply because they have to play on a fair and even ground without Special Privileges. Some incite hatred and fascism through their mindset and the worst even commit murder to maintain 'Ketuanan'. This mode of thinking must be corrected if Malays are not to become the most sociopathic race humanity has ever known.

(2) Freedom from Corruption (No more multi-millionaire politicians, confiscate the wealth of those who profited from things like AP, those who have done so and own up or blow the whistle now however MUST be forgiven)
(3) Freedom from Nepotism (No more fiefdoms and relatives taking over their father's positions) Enough children, relatives, son-in-laws or hand me down Ministries and Bureaucratic posts resulting self glorification of the family involved, resulting in mediocre performance and self serving behavior.
(4) Freedom from ISA (No more detainees and detentions without trial) Malaysian is to be run by First World citizens only. No more Banana Republic Dictators
(5) Freedom from Military Conscriptions. This is a Human Right. Coerced militarisation is a Human Rights Abuse ! Inability to understand the spirit of volunteerism and punishing Self Determinism and Conscientious Objection is the mark of a Dictator !
(6) An IPCMC (Recommended by Royalty but thus far ignored by certain political parties) Stop
disrespecting the Sultans by not implementing their recommendation or dragging your feet !
(7) Ombudsman System (Politician free panels that have power to act) Watch every move of every one
handling every cent. Any lack of transparency means it's time to replace that stooge !
(8) LGBT freedoms and freedom of sexual expression. Abolish Section 377.

Fair minded Malaysian politicians cannot tolerate these potentially racial-inciting reporting. Rather than race-based parties like DAP or MCA responding (which will play into UMNO's intention), a multiracial party like Keadilan should take the initiative to lead and champion an absolute rebuttal to such irresponsible reporting. Make a police report for a start. Then through the alternative media, provide a united stand to these type of 'play' on the basis of harmony, equality and progress for all. No need to take them on point for point. Subsequently, it will be good that PAS take over the baton to make some fair statements about race relations, religion practices, vision of what 1Malaysia should be.
