Dictating what one can sell and cannot has got nothing to do with islam, hinduism or any other religion.
What is disrespectful is serving beef with hindus present,that would be disrepecting hindu rights.
Demanding that alcohol be served at a hari raya gathering or in a muslim home would be disrespecting islam.

if there is a law, delegated legislations or any decree to ban the sales of alcoholic drinks, then we should abide by the ruling. But the forfeiture of the alcholic drinks can only be enforced if the rulings are legally enacted. We cannot improperly cary out the raid or seize at our discretion based on our likes and dislike. It must be done legally. Law may not be larger than life but we must know the law and know that we have actually broken the law.

If we are want to be law enforcer, we must know the laws and must be law abiding. We cannot act on own preference, beliefs and emotions

I think smoking is a worst sin than consuming alcohol. Drinking alcohol in moderation is ok but smoking affects the health of others. So it is better to ban cigarettes rather than alcohol, besides the sale of liquor to muslims and minor are already prohibited so there is no need to ban alcohol.

After years of educating Muslims [and non-Muslim alike] on Islam and all that it stands for in our schools, Colleges, Universities and other higher education syestems, all has come to nought. Since educations is so difficult, now they have got to go the easier way - by laws.

OK, what I don't get is what is the big fuss about selling beer or even alcohol? We all know that Muslims drink. It's a dirty secret, but come on . . . .
Anyways, whether it is in Shah Alam, Timbuktu or Istanbul, why can't alcohol be sold anywhere and everywhere? Don't Muslims have any self control? Alcohol is no different than cigarettes.
If cigarettes can be sold anywhere and everywhere, why can't alcohol? If it is haram for Muslims to drink and purchase alcohol, then isn't it a test of their faith and virtue in avoiding the purchase, and consumption of alcohol? This is about individual choice.
From all the "hoopla" that I've been hearing about Muslims this, and Muslims that . . . . it's like both UMNO and PAS are the biggest doubters of their own race! They call their own COWARDS, TRAITORS, and worse. They look down upon their own, thinking that the "average Ahmad" cannot think for himself and that PAS and UMNO must tell them what they can and cannot do.
Such mentality is what is holding back Muslims. It is sad, but the oppresion is not coming from the Chinese, Indians, orang Asli or even the West. It is coming from the very people that should be championing the Muslim cause!

I think religion education need to enchance for Muslim temptation on alcohol consumption.

If Muslim can be trained to undergone during Puasa time to avoid eating and drinking,
I do not see why Muslim cannot be trained to avoid alcohol.

Beside Islam, Sikh and Buddhism also ban alcohol consumption.

The sell of any drink (Soft or hard drink) so long it is legal in one matter whether to or not consume is at one's own discretion.

In Shah Alam, most hotels, social clubs and Chinese restaurants are serving alcoholic drinks.

Even in Putrajaya - Malaysia's administrative capital (brainchild of Mahathir) beer is being sold in hotels and Chinese restaurants.

If beer can't be sold in Muslim majority areas, then been can't be sold in Malaysia, which is a Muslim majority country. The focus should be on how to stop Muslims from purchasing beer or liquor for that matter. Through education rather then restrictions. If someone wan'ts to get hold on something, he will find a way.

Using majority rule does not make any sense here. It may not even make sense if you allow the muslim to vote on this issue. There is no doubt that some muslims drink alcohol. And when they do, they do appear to be reasonable and nice people.

Why is it stupid to suggest that beer should not be sold in muslim majority area? Well, Malaysia is muslim majority and eventually when you feel like being holier than me you will say that beer will not be sold in malaysia.

When will this ever end? Do you not consider the rest of us, non muslim in your though process and decisin making process?

Very simple, we create a new Law. Alcohol can be sold anywhere including in "Pasar Malam" (Night Market) , supermarket, at roadside, infront of the church or even at school. But whoever sell it to muslim, we send them to jail or fine them or even hang them. Alcohol and drug are the same to muslim. There are all "haram". If drug lord are hanged, then the bastard who sold alcohol to muslim should also be given the same punishment. Is this fair? Non Muslim can buy beer anywhere in Malaysia. But dont sell to muslim, you'll die for it. Can we all agree on this???? A win win situation for all of us right. Except for the dealer, they will lose a lot since Muslim cant buy Alcohol anymore...... No more denial for non Muslim rights, and also a good thing for Muslim.

Sabah, being a partner in the formation of Malaysia, should be insulated from all these craps....the attitudes of bigots are being spread into Sabah by UMNO and PAS...people of different religion and race can minggle around anywhere but now a different trend is emerging: a muslim mingling with people of another religion is scorned at.

With respect to my fellow non muslims needs, our school going teenagers from all races and religions can have easy acess to these drinks and so does the Mat Rempit's racing thru shah alam almost every other weekend. Why cant u put some kind of control when you were MB especially in Shah Alam? U did nothing ! No point of having a huge mosque in Shah Alam for that matter.
