KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30 — In the battle between Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat and Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek for control of MCA, one name has now emerged as a potential benefactor of the titanic struggle — Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.
Liow, who is health minister and also MCA vice–president, has been singled out as the man Ong’s camp will nominate to fill the deputy presidency after Chua’s controversial sacking last week.
And speculation is now rife that Ong, under siege from within his own party, from Barisan Nasional (BN) partners and from allegations of abuse of power and graft, is prepared to resign as MCA president.
All major Chinese newspapers reported the plan to hand the reins of power over to Liow, in what is possibly a move by Ong’s camp to float the idea to the public.
It is also likely that by suggesting a transition plan, Ong is hoping to temper the rising momentum of support for an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) to remove him and back Chua.
Yesterday, reports emerged that Chua had scored a major coup by winning the tacit support of Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan, the man he defeated for the party deputy presidency last year but who is highly influential in Perak.
Perak has a big number of party delegates and their endorsement is key to winning the battle for the party.
Since his sacking last week, Chua appears to have won the backing of supporters of two ex-presidents — Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting and Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik.
Supporters of the two ex-presidents, while not ardent backers of Chua, are said to be unhappy with what they see as the dictatorial and aloof style of Ong.
Besides the pressure from Chua, Ong is understood to be under severe pressure over the unrelenting attacks against him from Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, the BN Backbenchers’ chief.
Tiong has persisted in his claims that he had donated RM10 million in cash to Ong last year, and has demanded the MCA president open his own personal bank accounts for public scrutiny.
Ong has also admitted to taking free rides on private jets belonging to Tiong’s company, Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd (KDSB), the turnkey contractor of the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) which the MCA president has now singled out for blame over inflated claims.
But despite his denials, Tiong’s accusation against Ong has hurt him.
His carefully crafted image of being a clean and independent politician has been punctured by his admission that he took free rides on KDSB’s jets and the suggestion that he took money from Tiong.
By floating Liow’s name as a potential successor, he is hoping to block attempts by Chua to take over the party, probably by arguing the former health minister is also tainted by his own sex scandal.
The party presidential council is expected to confirm Liow as acting deputy president soon.
Another name that has cropped up as a potential No. 2 if Liow does take over is Datuk Wee Ka Siong.
In this scenario, Ong is hoping to ensure own graceful exit and block Chua’s rise.
But for now, it is understood Ong remains prepared to fight off Chua at all costs.
Ong’s supporters are also planning their own EGM to endorse the decision to sack Chua, and possibly to affirm Liow’s position as the new party No 2.

By taking this route, it will erode further the Chinese support for MCA and confirm the status of MCA as MONEY COME ALL!

This kind of dirty game has dragged for too long, very sickening, MCA should focus on more constructive and development activities of the party.
Members are having a choice now, if they are not happy, they might go, or they might join others
WAKE UP, MCA !!!!!

Now the exposure of PKFZ fiasco has given MCA some respectability, but they want to remove OTK?
Google 'Chua Soi Lek' and you will find his sex scandal all over the Internet. His supporters want to push him to become the President in order to obey their bidding.
MCA will sink even quicker!

If MCA cannot accept those disclosed corruption , then , MCA better "close shop" ..
Other than OTK , who else dare to say no to UMNO ? MCA still want to continue to be the dog that only know how to shake the tail ?
If Liow dare to say "no" to UMNO , he can become MCA head , but , do you think Liow can do that ( never even dream on that )
MCA members need to understand the actual problem of the MCA is INSIDERS + OUTSIDERS attack MCA .
During 911 , when USA announced US is under attacked , all their people regardless whatever difference in politic , belief or even enemy among themselves , they all stood up and worked together to go through the hard time .
MCA , what else you left ? No respect from Chinese community is already a FACT , and , now , even have to shit on your ownself , I suggest , MCA members if you cannot stand up and protect OTK , you better close shop ...

As a last resort,Datuk Liow or even better, bring back Datuk Lim Ah Lek,
to lead MCA,certainly not the Dep.President, who was caught with his pants
down. His tainted leadership and that of the past president, who proclaimed
that the fish rots from the head is certainly a no,no..Whoever that takes over
from YB Ong Tee Keat, has to carry on with the task of revealing the scandal
of PKFTZ,nothing less, to bring all the culprits to book and to recover monies
siphoned by these criminals, who abused their politicl position to enrich themselves
and their family.Failing which,UMNO/BN can kiss goodbye as a ruling Govt.by the

Being a self proclaimed vegetarian and hiding under this religious guise but at the same time keeping a mistress discreetly, Liow is in the same boat as CSL but the only difference is CSL admitted to it.
MCA will be back to square one again.
Please MCA members, if you want to choose Liow, ask him to own up and not be like a wolf in sheep's clothing!!!!

MCA is in trouble, with two camps going for the jugular. MCA is Divided EGMs may soon be held to oust OTK; and to confirm the sack of CCL.
PPP is in trouble. Two camps. Kayveas and Murugiah have theri groups. PPP is divided.
MIC is in trouble. So many camps have emerged. MIC is divided.
Gerakan is in trouble. Some leaders have left the Party! Gerakan is divided.
UMNO is in trouble. Dissatisfaction and frustration reign when Selangor voters went for PR. So, they had to vent their temper by protesting the shift of the Hindu Temple, to Section 23 from Section 19 bearing a cow's head! Why blame PR Government now ? Trengganu is not all peaceful; especially when there were two camps in choosing the MB.
Of course, you cannot please everybody! If honest goverance is to be attained, then the PM must "chop off " some heads, even friends! Take a leaf off the Prime Minister, Harold Macmillan, who DARED to drop Ministers, even powerful personalities. In governing a nation, there is only one way: do the RIGHT thing- be fair to all citizens, enforce the law fairly. Sack those who do not perform well, including Ministers!

So, which road must BN take to recoup losses and massage the egos of some UMNO leaders?

Though I don't support Mca, I feel that what Datuk Ong Tee Keat has done with regards to the PKFZ scandal is correct, right and a brave act... i.e. to find those responsible for this 'mother of all financial scandals & corruption'. Therefore, to think of quitting at this juncture, before the problem is solved is just unthinkable.
You must not give up. Fight on because many, many Malaysians are behind you in this holy mission.

For years they have been complaining about MCA being led by "spineless" leaders. At last now the party is being led by someone who dares to act without fear or favour whether in the PKFZ case or in acting against a relatively influencial deputy who is guilty of an immoral act. MCA has been waiting a long long time for a leader with such courage and moral fibre who will be able restore respectability to MCA and thence support of the Chinese.
Ong Tee Keat's actions may be unpopular to some members and some other affected parties and may bring about temporary turbulance to the party as well as the BN but I strongly feel that in the long run the party will benefit from his leadership. He is not a perfect man. However, I strongly believe he is honest and sincere in reforming the party and bring back support from the Chinese commuinity.
He therefore deserves our support to continue as the MCA president so that he can fulfil his mission to reform the party. I urge those MCA members who are trying to convene an EGM to oust OTK and install CSL as his replacement to think again. If CSL becomes the MCA president I am sure the BN leadership will be pleased and those wrong doers in the PKFZ affair will be even more pleased but Chinese support for MCA will continue to remain elusive.

Earlier this week the USA lost Senator Edward Kennedy. who probably influenced the lives of more Americans than his two brothers, after a scandal ended his Presidential hopes.
Sex scandals and corruption both require cheating but corruption causes damage to more people.

He only think to secure his position as MCA president post but forget about MCA in future. Hope all leader in MCA should think and consider our DCSL.

Our PM is moving in the right direction in appointing Idris to be a cabinet minister.
We only want the best people, people of the highest integrity, people of the highest ethical values and those who will serve with a passion. As Mr Serwer from Fortune said: "... President Obama surround himself with the best people in the planet. People like Larry Summer and Tim Geithner know the way around the jungle big time." ... The US cabinet are those that may not have any political connections. They are the best people for the job. Steven Chu, a Nobel Laurette, for one is heading the Energy Department.
To get Malaysia to greater height, our PM must look outside to get the ministers, not from MCA, UMNO, Gerakan or SUPP.
