PUTRAJAYA, Sept 14 — Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo was grilled by the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) at their headquarters here today for about six hours over his palatial mansion and state-funded trips when he was Selangor mentri besar.
Pakatan Rakyat lawmakers had claimed the Selangor opposition leader’s Balinese-style mansion in Shah Alam is worth RM24 million, far beyond the wages of a state assemblyman or mentri besar.
The former dentist was also quizzed about his trips to Disneyland which were paid for by state subsidiaries. Khir has called the allegations baseless, saying the state firms made the arrangements without his knowledge.
An MACC officer told reporters that Khir arrived at the commission’s headquarters here at 8.30am and left at about 2.30pm.
Reporters, however, did not get to catch a glimpse of the former mentri besar as he entered and left from the basement car park of the building housing anti-graft body’s offices.
When contacted by The Malaysian Insider, Khir confirmed he was questioned by the MACC but declined to elaborate.
The usually upbeat politician sounded very weak and tired and admitted that he was ill and seeking medical treatment.
The former Umno Youth exco member was made Selangor mentri besar in 2000 by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad after Tan Sri Abu Hassan Omar quit the post over personal issues.
Dr Mahathir famously said he was looking for a clean man to lead the country’s most industrialised state. Khir remained mentri besar after the country’s fifth prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi led Barisan Nasional to its historic 91 per cent vote mandate in the 2004 polls.
Before Election 2008, Khir proudly boasted that Selangor would be a zero-opposition state. Instead, he lost the state to Pakatan Rakyat and was relegated to being the opposition leader.
Khir was suspended from the state assembly for a year by the Selangor state assembly’s rights and privileges committee due to his absence from the Selangor Select Committee on Competence, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) inquiry into the alleged misconduct and inappropriate dealings of state charity Balkis.

Ha Ha - Ha Ha Ha!
We all know that this joker has a propensity for choosing all the wrong people for important jobs.
That was one of the main reasons our country is in such a bloody mess!!

Wahh, so nice ahh!!??
Teoh Beng Hock was interrogated from 5.30pm to 3.45am.
He was not a suspect, but a witess for a probe on RM2,400 abuse of state allocation.
Khir Toyo - only 6 hours and daytime only interview.
He is a suspect of corruption of millions of dollars on tax-payers money...
Holiday in disneyland tour, his massive mansion, plus many others -
6 hours - and Khir Toyo is sakit already.
He should be subjected to overnight interrogation lah -
then he would fall to sickness, instead he may fall from higher ground.
Shame lah, all wayang saje lah.
If TBH was interviewed from 8.30am to 2.30pm,
I can bet he would still be alive today.

The outcome in a justified and tranparent manner would give thumbs up for Najib's Leadership as the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
The Rakyat are waiting anxiously to see the outcome.

Very doubtful that he has been grilled.
Show it to the CCTV recording to prove it!
Just another sandiwara to appease the public anger with MACC and Khir.

MACC grill Khir Toyo?? They grill chicken or seafood ? Better invite Khir Toyo for buka puasa instead.
Well, he's an impotent .. whoops! important man, and he's got discerning tastes and they need to brief .. whoops! sorry, "grill" him on the menu lah...
All said, I agree with mic above;
All thats needed is that MACC do its job with transparency and the public must be happy.

As part of standard Operating Procedure - have the progress reported over your web-site. If investigation papers are word processed that should be an easy task. Soemthing to think about. Also act on all of the other cases DSAI has been higlighting.......
Otherwise this action can seriously dent any credibility that is left. There is also a need to explain to the public why there is a delay in taking action in this case.

UMNO shall put enough hurdle to stop any warlord from going to jail !!!!
those guilty shall be acquitted by the court... if not
those guilty shall win their appeal at a higher court...if not
those guilty shall only be fine but not jailed...if not
those guilty shall get royal pardon as a last resort....

Grilled for 6 hours negotiating how much MACC will get from Toyol if the result is NFA, No Further Action! Yes, also discuss how to "play" with Pakatan team?
Better still, just to please the public, MACC & Toyol will agree to the investigation process that will be a vvvveeeeeerrrrryyyyy lllloooongggggg time with lots of investigation mistakes along the way until everybody forgets about it.

After so long...& after so much critism from Public , now MACC act on it..JUST FOR SHOW only to please the rakyat.
Bet he is sitting & chatting along with the MACC chief..probably sitting on the chief executive chair instead interrogating the officer for not acting swiftly on the PR reps.

I didn't know that land in Sec 7 Shah Alam is at that price. My father bought the piece of land in Sec 7 a few years ago at RM24 per sqft. Based on KT's house land price, my father would have made 2,200 % profit if he was to sell the land. In fact, the price of land is even more expensive than Taman Tun DR Ismail in KL.
Hmmmmm, go figure.
