PUTRAJAYA, Sept 16 – All schools will get a special holiday on Friday in conjunction with Aidilfitri, Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said today.
Muhyiddin, who is also Deputy Prime Minister, said the government’s decision to give the holiday involved all schools and educational institutions under the Education Ministry.
The cabinet made the decision to enable parents to make early travel arrangements for their families to return to their hometowns and avoid traffic congestion, he said in a statement here.
With the decision, the ministry’s earlier letter on additional holiday for Hari Raya has been revoked. – Bernama
