KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 19 — Twenty three-year-old Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) serviceman, Azizi Sejeli, was a matter of hours away from a flight home to his village in Kuching when he died in a hit-and-run incident.
At about 5am today, Azizi, who was riding a motorcycle, was hit by a black Proton Wira that was believed to be travelling at a high speed and coming from the opposite direction at the Bulatan Mawar roundabout in Ampang Jaya.
It is understood that Azizi, who was being followed by two friends, also on motorcycles, could not avoid the car and was hit by it and crashed into a road railing. He was thrown six metres and died at the scene.
Azizi was scheduled to take a flight to Kuching this afternoon and while waiting for his flight rested at his adopted family’s home in Ampang Jaya.
He had just had his ‘sahur’ meal before shopping in the city and was heading home to his adopted family’s house.
Selangor Traffic and Public Order Department chief, Supt Che Hussain Che Omar, when contacted confirmed the incident and urged witnesses to contact the Ampang Jaya traffic branch at 03-42966937.
Azizi’s body was sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem and was expected to be sent to Kuching this evening. — Bernama
