IGP denies saying minister to be grilled over PKFZ leak

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 – Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan tonight denied a Bernama news report that quoted him as saying that a minister or ministers would be called up to assist in the probe on the leakage of the Cabinet Paper on the Port Klang Free Zone issue.

Police Assistant Director of Management for Public Affairs ACP Lai Yong Heng said in a statement that Musa had at no time mentioned that a minister or ministers would be called up for that purpose at a function at the Ampang Jaya police district headquarters earlier today.

“What he (Musa) said was that witnesses or individuals will be called up to assist in the investigations and have their statements recorded,” he said.

Police are expected to haul up those believed to have been involved in the leaking of the Cabinet Paper on the PKFZ issue.

The purported Cabinet Paper posted on a website regarding the RM12.5-billion PKFZ project had incurred the wrath of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who denounced the act, because such documents are covered by the Official Secrets Act (OSA).

The 18-page Cabinet Paper is purportedly a memorandum by the Finance Ministry in June 2007 to seek the Cabinet’s approval to retrospectively approve a RM4.6-billion soft loan to fund the PKFZ project.

The Bernama report released earlier in the day, quoting Musa, said a minister is expected to be among a number of individuals to be hauled up by police for questioning, in connection with the leaked Cabinet papers on the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) case.

“Police will call those believed to be involved, including a minister,” the national news agency quoted the IGP as telling reporters after visiting the Ampang Jaya police headquarters here today. – Bernama

when musa didn't want to reveal the name of the person, that person must be someone from bn!!! if its the opposition who leaks, all of malaysian polis force would have raid this poor fellow and musa with the big smile telling the world its the oppositions followed by all curses & condemn by bn morons!!!

please don't think that the rakyat has forgotten about the case of macc car blew-up. the rakyat is eagarly wanting for the polis who boasted that they knew who was behind it but until now, no declaration of who were involved. the rakyat will think that the polis were just babbling away trying to fool the rakyat that they were doing their job.

if its really job completed, where's the results???? just like najib, he says billions has been spent....where and what the projects spent???? into umno pockets???

Hello Mr PM, Home Minister, AG & IGP,
Don't focus on the wrong direction & stop this silly investigations on the paper leak.
What the rakyat want to know is whether the BN govt knowingly agreed & collaborate with the increase from RM1.8 Billion to 4.6 billion. There are already too many bleeding mega projects lah.
Don't play with all these ineffective wayang kulit to cover-up, it doesn't work anymore nowadays!

It means Najib is very determined to bury the truth of PKFZ into the center of earth as he has appointed a special committee headed by his man, the chief sec. of the govt. to ensure no one can come near to the truth.
In a way, the rightfulness and authority of Ministry of Transport investigating the case has been deprived and fall in a hand where Najib has direct control over it.

Guess which Minister that will be interrogated for leaking out official doc.?!!

When will Najib have the MACC haul in cabinet members who have been implicated in this scandal? Instead of going after the informant, you should be going after those who have "lost" the rakyat's money and deprived our children and our nation of a better and brighter future!

Najib, stop talking about 1Malaysia and about performance indicators when you are not exercising justice and not performing to the standards expected of you by the rakyat. As our prime servant (that's what Prime Minister means, in case you didn't know) we expect you to administer our nation with integrity, and in justice and truth. The OSA stands for Official Secret Act or is it Our Self perservation Act? By right anything that is not a threat to our nation should not be classified as secrets. But if it is just good information that revealed an act of corrupt practice in the government especially, it should be welcome. Instead now the head of government and his police are trying to punish the whistle blowers. Too bad that Malaysia have such people. How are we to stamp out corruption if the people ,no matter whether he is a minister or not , are prevented from revealing corrupt practices? Who dares or wants to help if he/she instead is the criminal and not the thieves or robbers? What do you say ,our good honourable ex prime minister , Tun Mahathir?
Many still hold a grudge against Tun Mahathir from his time as the prime minister of Malaysia. But now that he is no more under pressure, what he said -make sense. Listen to the word he said carefully, .It makes sense. Just because of his past people have a negative view of what he say nowadays.
