SHAH ALAM, Sept 26 — Datuk Dr Hasan Ali's string of controversies with his Selangor Pakatan Rakyat (PR) colleagues, now rocking the fragile coalition, has prompted PAS's powerful central committee to ask him to explain himself.
PAS central committee member Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said they intend to haul the Selangor PAS commissioner before the party’s central working committee so he can explain his repeated open attacks on his PR allies.
“I’ve spoken to most of the other central committee members and we are of the view he has gone too far,” the Kuala Selangor MP told The Malaysian Insider.
The latest controversy was ignited when Hasan lashed out at the select committee for competency, accountability and transparency (Selcat) for “bullying” civil servants during a public inquiry into the misuse of millions of ringgit in state allocations by Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen for campaigning during the general election last year.
The state government watchdog has been grilling district officers, who are responsible for ensuring the annual allocations are disbursed according to regulations, to explain why the funds were almost completely used up by most BN lawmakers in the first two months of last year.
Hasan’s remarks in the press were seen as an open attack on Selcat and the Selangor legislature which established the watchdog to check abuses in the state administration.
Previously, Hasan clashed with PR colleagues over the sale of beer at convenience outlets and a plan to empower mosque committee members and workers to prevent vice in the state. The Selangor sultan has also asked Hasan to explain himself as religion is under royal purview.
The executive councillor has come under pressure from within his own party and from other PR lawmakers to resign from the state administration if he cannot be a “team player”.
In retaliation, PAS state liaison committee secretary Mohd Khairuddin Othman on Thursday released a controversial statement which claimed the party was fully behind Hasan and was considering pulling out of PR in Selangor.
However, Selangor PAS lawmakers have collectively denied this. They added the matter was never even brought up in the state liaison committee and Mohd Khairuddin had no business making such a statement.
Dzulkefly said Mohd Khairuddin will also be hauled up to explain his actions.
He said both men were playing into the hand of BN and this cannot be tolerated.
“A clear message must be sent to all PR leaders that such actions are not acceptable,” said the PAS chief strategist.
Dzulkefly said it was too premature for him to comment on whether both men would be referred to the party’s disciplinary committee.
However, he said one way or another both men would be dealt with by the party.
“Fortunately our PR partners have been remarkably restrained and are leaving this matter for PAS to resolve internally,” Dzulkefly added.
But Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim last night described the latest controversy as a miscommunication and will chair a meeting on Monday to resolve the festering issue.
Describing the issue as “one of miscommunication between the parties”, Khalid said the matter would be addressed internally.
He added that during the meeting he would allow everyone to raise concerns and clarifications on the matter.

I am glad that PAS is dealing with this matter seriously.
I would be glad if he resigns from the State exco.
If he wishes to stay, then as part of the govt, he should be a solution to the problems in the State rather than be a problem himself to the State!

The bad old habits of the bureaucracy are gonna spook some things, not just PR but even the present BN government. The present BN and the Bureaucracy are in an unholy matrimony, that much we can see. But lest you cannot be seen but only heard to do justice, the loud PKR/DAP stalwarts are no better.
If you have the Royalty publicly urging the rakyat to support the BN, we have to learn very exemplary behavior to get anywhere to ultimately practice good governance. By all means discipline everybody but practise what you preach so that the office boys, the peons and the mata-mata can look up to some decency. As for the DO's they DON'T even practise good examples to the voting people in the bureaucracy. You just have to let a good judge to hang them for their crimes.

Wasn’t it the truth that SELCAT had the responsibility to question the DO when millions of ringgit was spent in just over two months? When Teoh was not only grilled, bullied for many hours in the night and wee hours of the morning and ultimately fall from 14th floor without much injury and died over a mere 114 ringgit which was a refund!!!!.
Can Hasan Ali, being a very religious man reconcile with Teoh’s death over 114 riinggit compared with millions of ringgit by the BN?
If it was never discussed by the PKR or by PAS what made Hasan Ali to go the Press. Unless, of course he was paid to make the press statement just for the few millions!! Speak up the truth, Hasan Ali. I can smell a rat.

I have friends staying in Kelantan. The feedback from my friends are that PAS rule Kelantan peacefully without disturbing other races. PAS treat everyone fairly. It is that some newspapers give wrong impression on PAS.
In Selangor, it seems Hassan Ali is trying very hard to benefit other party. I hope PAS will check Hassan Ali background thoroughly.

You cannot allow a loose canon on the deck to derail the partnership of PR. That loose canon can anytime blow up and sink the PR ship if no disciplinary action is taken against him. Whether what Khairuddin said is true and have the blessings of PAS muktamar, as a partner to PR, PAS must declare their stand and take action against those going against your declared stand and committment to PR.
Since taking over the Selangor state govt, nobody is actually discounting that PAS Selangor would cross over to BN. You cannot blame people having this kind of suspicion arising from some of PAS lawmakers and leaders' actions. PAS muktamar must have the political will and guts to take action against loose canons within their ranks.
Besides Hasan Ali, would PAS let Ibrahim Ali the noted religious bigot and racist to stand for election next time round on a PAS ticket? If so I urge that we think twice before giving our to support PAS.

The DOs were just "humbled" and yet so much noise and opposition by Hassan Ali. Did he even make a whimper when kugan, TBH and others were tortured by PDRM and MACC?
I am pleased that finally PAS Central Committee is going to investigate and hopefully discipline them if not send them back to UMNO. If TDM doesn't even want him back, you guess how incapable and unwanted he is.

Hassan Ali, Nasharudin & Hadi Awang shall be the reason if PAS defeated !!!!
The trio are UMNO BN perfect tools to topple PR !!!
They shall be the cause if PAS defeat in Bagan Pinang !!!
They were the cause of PAS near failure in Manik Urai !!!
They are the excuses for UMNO BN to attack PR !!!
They shall be the cause of any future PR defeat !!!

PAS have to do something once and for all. No use in just "disciplining" him
Like the saying goes - when you cut the grass, make sure you remove the roots as well. Otherwise when the rain comes, it will grow back as grass again".

SELCAT had already show us how "efficient" government delivery system under UMNO BN !!!
Selangor state allocations totaling millions had been approved & drain-dried to BN constituency in a blink of an eye during GE12 !!!
We need SELCAT at Federal level !!! Perhaps to replace the impotent MACC slave !!!
If Selangor BN alone could drain so much money, what could be expected at Federal level & other states ???
