SHAH ALAM, Sept 30 – Selangor deputy PAS commissioner Iskandar Samad today said he was not aware of any move to refer the Shah Alam MP to the party’s disciplinary committee.
Khalid Samad had called for Selangor PAS Commissioner Datuk Dr Hasan Ali to step down as Selangor executive councillor (Exco) because of his ongoing disputes with his Pakatan Rakyat colleagues.
Khalid yesterday said he was not aware of any effort to refer him to the disciplinary committee but was ready to explain himself if necessary.
An online news portal reported yesterday there was a move to refer Khalid to the party's disciplinary committe.
Iskandar today said the matter was not discussed at the party’s state liaison committee meeting on Sunday, which was called to discuss Hasan’s outburst in the press against the special select committee for competency, accountability and transparency (Selcat).
Hasan had accused the state government watchdog of bullying public servants during its inquiry into the misuse of state funds by Barisan National (BN) lawmakers for campaigning ahead of the general elections last year.
However, Hasan had come under fire not only from Khalid but others from his own party for undermining Selcat, which was established by the legislature.
PAS Hulu Klang assemblyman Saari Sungib, who is a member of Selcat, said Hasan should explain himself to the House Privileges Committee while Meru assemblyman Dr Abdul Rani Osman said he was fully supportive of Selcat and its public inquiries.
Iskandar, who is also Hasan's colleague in the state executive council (Exco), said the issue of disciplining a member is not a matter for the party's state liaison committee but the PAS central committee.
